Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Holiday sale is always a big deal but over the past year digital sellers like Amazon.com and Green Man Gaming have really raised their games to the point that a lot of times they outshine Steam sales.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Can you guys recommend me any good, cheap RPG or RTS games that don't require a super computer? Was thinking about maybe picking up Fallout 1 and 2 or Supreme Commander.
Not really sure what I'm capable of running, since this thing is pretty old. I've upgraded it to 3-4 GB of RAM, and it's got a duel core processor. Only has a X1300 Pro graphics card though so I'm not going to be able to play any really recent games I don't think.Fan of....

Assuming we aren't just talking about Steam, Starcraft if you somehow haven't played it yet. SC1 should run on anything with how old it is, and II (Wings of Liberty) is very scalable, as most Blizzard games are.Can you guys recommend me any good, cheap RPG or RTS games that don't require a super computer? SC1 looks like $15 for the downloadable on Blizzard's site, and includes its expansion Brood War. SCII is a bit pricier at $40, being by far the more recent game.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I've got it, and runs pretty well for me, everything's at the "Optimal" level. My machine's not a beast, but i've learned that it can do all the current stuff at ok levels.
My PC specs here:
Intel core i7-860
8GB DDR3 Memory
ATI Radeon HD 5770
It's a couple years old, but beats out the Recommended Specs I read online:
DirectX11 graphics card with 1024MB Video RAM
Quad core CPU
4GB MemoryNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Starcraft is actually one of the few games I played back in the day on PC. It was a lot of fun, but honestly I preferred Age of Empires II and Red Alert over it.
Will check into it since I hadn't heard of it.
Are there any games similar to like Fable or Skyrim that would work on an older PC like mine? I know I'm obviously not going to play those, just similar games would be fun.Fan of....

I've never played this game before but it seems like a nice change of pace with lots of nice visuals and things to deal with in jungles and on an island
