It's just the types of players that MOBAs attract. I still like them, for all their faults. Just get ready to meet some crappy people (you will also meet some cool ones as well. Just not as many.)

We're all always talking on here and enjoy PC games, why don't we setup some game nights or something? I bet most of us have a lot of the same games (L4D2, etc.). We should start getting together for some multiplayer every so often.

Just got into the Infinite Crisis beta. Never played a MOBA before.

Same here, but I have been fooling around in DOTA 2 co-opt bot matches.

Today we had somebody on the team call mid, and then this Lina just decided to hang out in mid too. Hilarious, especially when I saw her behind a tier 1 tower just running around.

yup, CKII is one of today's 75% off titles. you can get the entire CKII collection(base game + all DLC except the recently released ones like The Old Gods) for $20. all the individual DLCs are also 75%(except the recently released ones).

picked up March of the Eagles. I had just got done playing the demo right before the steam store updated. While I wouldn't put the game up there with CKII or the EU series. It's definitely worth a $5 purchase.

also picked up the Victoria collection + Heart of Darkness. already owned the base game of Vic 2(though it wasn't the steam version), but never got either expansion, and I never played the original Victoria game.

Yeah I love strategy games but have such a huge backlog... dang it...
Seems CKII is pretty deep.. between that and Victoria etc.. don't know what to get if I do get one.

I'm sitting here watching some "Play Now's" - mainly tutorial stuff. Just watched a few on Victoria 2. It looks pretty cool.

I have Civ V but just never could get that into it so I'm looking for something new/different.

Going to watch a few on CKII and EU3 now. I also downloaded a EU3 demo.
I'll probably pass on EU3 since 4 is coming soon.

CKII: Sword of Islam, The Republic, Legacy of Rome, and The Old Gods are the big DLC/expansions. most allow other religions to be playable(otherwise you can only pick a christian ruler). The Old Gods also extends the timeline by 200 years. the other DLCs are pictures, unit models, and music. although the CKII music is pretty awesome, IMO.

however, if you have no intention of playing a muslim ruler, or a republic ruler, you could probably skip Sword of Islam and The Republic. most of the gameplay changes that came with it was also in the base game patch. the DLC basically unlocks them to be playable. Legacy of rome is similar, but you also get retinues, which are standing armies. you can't get that without the DLC.

The sunset invasion is considered an expansion/main DLC, but it's based on a mythical Aztec invasion of Europe. I normally have it disabled as I don't really want Aztec invading Europe.

haven't played with the Vic 2 DLCs yet, I've only played the base game. but I did pick them up now.
