FYI, Trails is a bit on the buggy side out of the gate. Many people have been reporting crashes and odd graphical glitches, and I can't get my controller to work properly with the game (even with Joy2Key). XSEED's aware and they're gathering info to fix the issues.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

I currently own an Xbox One. Primarily for playing Madden Football (I run an online league and all my friends play on Xbox). I'm also looking forward to Destiny and Halo Master Chief Collection. I also own a "Decent" PC: AMD Fx-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core, GTX 760, Patriot Ram 2x4GB, 600W power supply, 7200RPM 1TB HDD, ASUS M78 board.

I've been a console guy my whole life starting on Nintendo and progressing since then going the Xbox route. I prefer a controller versus keyboard and mouse (I've tried but I'm 35 and stuck in my old controller ways). I'm finding though that a PC is not cutting it for me in supplying my additional gaming needs. I like sandbox, strong stories and the occasional FPS games. Favorite games in the past have been Skyrim, HALO 1-4 (F*** Reach), Far Cry 3, Fallout(s), GTA's, Bioshock(s), Hitman(s) and basically any sports game (Baseball, Basketball and Football). All of these games were bought and played on consoles. I've only recently (past three months) delved into the Steam world.

Here is my dilemma - I like my PC and the value I get from games thru Steam Sales. I took part in the Summer steam sale and was pleasantly surprised at the deals I found. I like the superior graphics on my PC versus my Xbox360 and I could tell instantly when I still had my 360 a month ago. However, there are still games that I would like to play that aren't available on either the Xbox1 or PC but are on PS4. Games like MLB The Show '14, Uncharted 4 and The Last of US are the main ones. I've never been a PS guy either but they do have some pretty cool games I would like to mess with. So I guess my question is as follows?

I'm debating on selling my PC rig for a PS4. For the style of gaming I like am I'm ditching out on the PC world too soon? I'm not big into emulating or indie games, or MMO's or MOBA or waiting 6-12 months for a game to be cheaper thru Steam. I do like the superior graphics that a CPU provides me but I'm just looking to game and am fine playing a console on my 50" screen. I'm more than happy with the way it looks. I'm a family man with responsibilities and have no desire to mod or even play thru Skyrim again with different mods despite how much I loved that game. Is there anything the PC can provide me and my gaming preferences that I'm missing out on by jumping to PS4? Is the PC going to get Sports games back sometime in the future? Does the PC have exclusives that I don't know about?

I'm almost ready to make the switch to PS4 in the next day or so but don't want to in case I'm missing a big component of what the PC has to offer. I appreciate and look forward to all of your input.

        Thanks,

            Anyone have Neo Scavenger?

NEO Scavenger is a game where you must survive in the wasteland long enough to figure out who you are. Each turn, you must decide where to go, how to scavenge for supplies, and how to deal with anything and anyone you encounter.

Video games for players who enjoyed detailed pen and paper role-playing and strategy games, and want to have those experiences on the computer.

It is worth a try. I bought it today for 9.99 (Steam) and I can see myself wasting hours on it.

EDIT: Here is some gameplay of my first decent game.

If you have the Beta Steam client you can now hide games from your library. Useful just to hide all those Betas that come with some games.

Also Crypt of the Necrodancer looks great.

Anybody here rock with dual monitors? I just found out that they updated Big Picture so that you can have the second monitor dedicated for Big Picture only.

Is there a Steam sale or event this upcoming week? I noticed there is no daily deal today and unless they're changing things, it means something is going on next week. I'm thinking its some kind of publisher sale, but unsure.

                    Any thoughts?

There may be, though I kind of doubt it. I've seen times where there wasn't a daily deal and nothing special happen afterwards. It happens every now and then.

Was just redownloading SimCity (the newest one), having gotten my computer up and running again. Damn...Origin is FLYING through this. It's a 12 GB download and my 10 mb/s down connection is pulling 1 - 1.3 MB/s according to the downloader (note the difference in units - it's using pretty much my entire connection). It's going to be done in probably a little over a half hour.

PSN definitely got better with the PS4, but it's still nowhere near on this level as fast download speeds go.

Edit: I knew something was crazy about this...the file I'm actually downloading is 3 GB. Probably just gets you into the menus and then downloads the rest as you play. Still, 3 GB in a half hour is nice on this connection.

Pillars of Eternity Beta streams are starting to pop up on Twitch, for anyone interested in it. And, seeing as there's a thread about streaming on the first page of their official Beta forum, it seems like they're not going to try to stop it.
