I wish they'd pick a time like that to do it more often instead of right in the middle of the day.

Does it affect all PSN users around the globe, or just North America? If it's everyone, then there are many "middle of the day"s.

I'm 14 hours ahead.. even late night maintenance catches me.

I will say this, it's inconvenient and there are some issues with my console, but damn if people don't overreact and start talking about Sony's post launch public perception and performance again. The console is still amazing.

A few hiccups are nothing. I remember having to conveniently place a piece of cardboard in my NES to get it to start and then my mom bumped the console with the vacuum cleaner on accident and I lost my progress on the 7th world of Super Mario Bros 3 and I went insane.

I'm 25 now and that **** was a long time ago, but these issues are cake compared to some **** I've dealt with.

I lost Tecmo Super Bowl seasons because the cartridge's battery backup just decided to randomly fail. I feel you.

That time sucks for me. Kids go to bed at 830, I like to go to bed when the 11 o clock news starts. Guess what I usually like to do in between those times? Besides what you're thinking.

Woohoo!!! I'm happy as I was able to solve that problem with the disc drive repeatedly spinning despite there being no disc inside.

As for keeping the console on standby / rest mode, for some it makes sense. For me, not at all because I rarely go online with the PS4 and have no interest in playing online and im not buying PS+. On average, once a month and only if there's a day one update (like there was for The Evil Within). For me, turning off my console is the only way to go.

I just downloaded the you tube app and my PS4 froze, then shut itself off. I rebooted aHD it did a dianostic check and is back up. You tube is getting deleted immeadeately. This is why I want my game consoles to just be game consoles. You start adding crap and the poop hits the fan!

Update: you tube can not be deleted. lol. Man.

This happened to me when I tried a new theme (destiny theme) system locked up and shut itself off and did some sort of disk check. My PS4 came back online after all the checks.

Yeah. Agreed. Not a big deal for me tonight. Going to the Avs-Islanders game. May be better to lay off the PS4 for a night until all this mess can get squared away hopefully.

That might have more to do with EA's servers - I can't get into Madden and there's been some others in our league with that problem tonight.

Edit: Oh right, the maintenance. I wonder why it even let me stay signed into PSN?
