Vue is great. I enjoyed e3 until they got to VR. That has no interest for me.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
For those of who you are switching/have switched to Vue. What internet service do you have?
We currently have Verizon DSL, but it tops out a 7Mbps. I imagine a switch to Comcast would be necessary.
What do you guys do for your local channels and sports that you want to watch in real-time? Can I sign up for HBO Go somehow?
Also, do any of you guys avoid the modem/router rental fee by using your own?

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The standalone paid HBO Go is called HBO Now. https://order.hbonow.com/
That's if you don't have a family member's credentials to use to get into the service...
And yeah, totally worth avoiding modem rental fees, don't buy it from your provider either, just grab a compatible modem from Frys or your local electronics store. Typically recoup that money within a year or so.Comment

Also, I agree that it's better to pay upfront for your own modem. And not from the ISP either. A comparable third party modem/router can even actually give you slightly better speeds, in some cases.
I have an antenna for local channels, but I rarely use it anymore since the local ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and CW stations are now available thru Vue in my area (Houston). I used it to watch Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and then magically ABC was available the next day on view! As for other sports, the Elite package has regional Fox Sports channels too,as well as BigTen, SEC and Longhorn networks... needless to say, I think Vue is awesome lol.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If you're gonna have Internet for the foreseeable future , it's more economical for just about everybody to buy their own. Every few years you may have to replace one or the other for some reason like breakage or technology upgrade but at $90-$120 modem vs $8-$10 a month for renting you'd be ahead after a year or so.
Plus a lot of times the routers and modems from companies are crap. Owning your own let's you get a reputable brand and let's you upgrade firmware and customize settings easier.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
$90-120? Is that with a router or just straight up modem? I found some compatible ones with good reviews in the $40-60 range.

I have Xfinity, and it has been pretty flawless so far. (dropped AT&T cable and ISP, a couple of months ago, specifically because of Vue.)
