Yes that could mean its specs are final but how does that mean it is under powered when we don't even what its specs are in the first place? We have only seen rumor just rumors. What if we hear about the NEO this year and its specs are higher then the rumors say or what if they show it this year and it doesn't come out in till late next year like xbox? That would give them the same amount of time to have high specs like xbox does.

    C. If NEO makes ps4 worthless then you can say the same thing about the more powerful xboxone making this current xboxone worthless to. You say NEO will be more then current ps4 but again that is also going to be true with the newer xbox next year compared to the current xbox. Again we don't know if NEO is going to be just a small update like you said. If you are saying that NEO is a mid-gen console then so is XBOXones more powerful system next year and if NEO does come out next year then both the NEO and more xboxone will be at about 4 years from ps4 and xboxone. So most of those things you say about the NEO are true about the more powerful xbox to.
There's already Neo dev kits out there which would mean that the current specs are final unless they change it which would also be a problem because then it changes what the dev teams are doing.

Here's what I think happened with why Neo wasn't shown at E3. Sony became aware of how powerful Scorpio is and knew that spec wise, Neo isn't even close so they decided to not show it because instead of the games being shown becoming the focus, it would be the inferior specs of the Neo. By not showing it, they avoid the entire Neo topic and situation. The difference between Neo and Scorpio is clear as day. Scorpio is far more powerful and Microsoft is losing 2-1 in sales. Also, by the time it releases, it will be the same as Xbox to Xbox 360.

Yeah, Sony could delay Neo and increase the specs but doing so would also cost more money to do so and I think at this point, they'll just release it and whatever it sells, it sells. The main reason why I think Scorpio is smart and Neo isn't is because PS4 is better than the Xbox One and crushing everything in it's way. Scorpio is Microsoft's chance to fix that. Neo is just meh and not needed. When you're crushing everything in your path, the last thing you need to do is release a mid gen console.

The difference is that Scorpio is strong enough that it can sort of be marketed as a next gen console that's fully backwards compatible with all current Xbox One games. Both the current PS4 and Xbox One/Slim would be obsolete once Neo/Scorpio gets released but both Sony and Microsoft wouldn't actually do that. They will still sell the inferior consoles.

This is gonna sound silly, and obvious. But I think VR is gonna either be huge or a complete bust. I think the price might keep a lot of people away for a while.

I need to see if my Gamestop has the PSVR demo and see what its like. If I like it I'll probably pre-order it. The thought of playing No Man's Sky on it is very very tempting.

I used to think VR was going to be a fad but im coming around for a few reasons.

        1. Sony makes hardware, this is what they do. Every impression I've read says that the PSVR is the most comfortable (important for mainstream adoption) but also a good bang for your buck.

        2. It just makes a ton of sense. It's the full evolution of gaming that we need, not that it will kill the controller or anything like that, just that it will be a completely new way to play games. I complain about innovation all the time, how many times do you put a game in and can skip the tutorial, knowing exactly how to play it because it's a certain genre? This opens that up in a whole new way, and that's exciting.

        3. Lastly and most importantly is it seems like the tech is worthy. My only worry is that I haven't seen any games that make me want to jump out and get it...but I also haven't tried it. And everyone that has tried it is telling me that words don't explain it, you have to feel it. Hardcore gamers that I know aren't falling for cheap gimmicks, are trying these headsets on for a half hour and telling me I need it. As long as that remains the case, they'll have time to grow the game library. People were excited about the idea of Kinect and Move, but when they came out they had a few uses and that was it. People are actually trying this out and saying its game changing, that's gotta mean something.

That Sony may be opting for a larger CPU upgrade in it. Apparently someone who was briefed through the retailer meetings that had a wealth of info slip a couple of months back, said they were still not final on the specs, and were considering (heavy leaning) towards a better CPU option, versus the smaller dye (14nm) clock boosted Jaguar CPU.

So it would either be PUMA or Zen based if they chose to do so, which is the next revision and more efficient CPUs from AMD. If Puma, it is a bump up from Jaguar, and still can come out this year, Zen would be early next year. They are using Polaris that initially was clocked low (911mhz), which could easily see a bump in speed due to AMD releasing a Polaris (480) this month that is 1200mhz and 5.5TF due to the speed bump. I would not be shocked if they went with GDDRX to feed as well.

Either way, I am getting one, and it will be a big jump from the PS4 spec wise, not to mention 4K output for UHD Blueray for my 4K TV.

I agree with this. It is definitely something you feel. It will not be a fad, due to every entertainment giant, as well as non-entertainment companies, even NASA, is backing this tech unlike anything we have seen since the first home computers.

It may not be for 'everyone' surely as anything is, however, those who have NOT tried it, have no leg to stand on with opinions as to it's ability, etc..

It truly is amazing. It was in the early 90's when I tried the 15fps arcade shooter in the mall, and from what I hear, this is a million times that (obviously). Finally we are at the point where the tech is there for home versions. And as anything with tech, it will just mature and get better, as well as come down in price.

I am mostly interested in the educational like games, or the 'travel to other places' experiences, more so than games. Being able to visit the Great Pyramids, Maccu Picchu, The Moon, Mars!!! And these developers are porting those very PC applications to the PSVR as well.

Click on the link and put in your zip code. It will show you stores in your area that will have the demo (PSVR) date, and time availability. 300 stores have been added and will be showing it off beginning this weekend. Those who are curious should give it a go, and test it, before dismissing it without even trying it out.

Live the game with PlayStation®VR and explore incredible virtual reality worlds, powered by the PS VR headset and your PlayStation®4 or PlayStation®5 console.

These are the experiences I am most stoked about.

Yoshida: PlayStation 4’s Lifecycle Won’t Be Shortened by PS4 Neo

When asked if the regular console cycle of five to six years would maybe come to an end, and hardware might instead progress in smaller steps, Yoshida replied:
No. PS4 is PS4. New high-end PS4 is still PS4, so the lifecycle is not going to be shorter.
Prior to this comment, Yoshida said, “We are not talking about [the] new high-end PS4 that we are working on. When we have enough information we will talk about it.”
As Sony has said previously, all of your PS4 games will continue to work on the standard model after PS4 Neo is released, but games on Neo “will be delivered at a higher resolution, with an enhanced graphical experience, but everything else is going to be exactly as you’d expect.”
Of course it won't. The software will be the same. People will continue to buy the PS4 (price matters to mainstream casuals), and enthusiasts will buy the Neo. Same software, same ecosystem. It extends life into an already popular console if anything.

Like some of us have been saying all this time. NEO won't fracture the existing ecosystem but only enhance it for those looking for those extra features (4k streaming, VR, cross-play).

What I don't understand is MS Scorpio. The slim makes sense but the Scorpio? If all games will be playable across all 3 systems then that means Scorpio won't have any exclusives. What would be the point of having a powerhouse and not be able to take advantage of it?

Upscale games to 4k, and there's no guarantees there wont be Scorpio specific games, messaging has been confusing on that front. Support for VR absolutely means there will be exclusives.

                              It's their Neo, just beefier.
