The connect one box thing does look sound odd. Yeah 1100 right now on amazon and I think around the same at best buy and I was thinking it may go lower around black Friday or December Holliday time. It got 8 to 8-7 on the different things on that review site. So it sounds like it doesn't have any big weakness. Any change it could be around 900 around holiday time? So what are you looking for? You said like double for just a slight improvement. From what I have seen this is like the biggest 4K TV for around a 1000 that is not a bottom level kind of 4k tv. When do new Tv's come out like the Samsung 2017 ones? Also do you know does this TV have inputs for older video games like SNES, Gamecube etc? From looking at the TV I am having a hard time finding info about that.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Wait, when does this game officially come out? I got in at Best Buy on what I thought was the release date a couple of days ago and there was already a release day patch.

I'm sure stores were overstocked from pre-orders and ordering extras for the early tip-off and were just selling as if it came out on Friday.Fino Alla Fine

I already purchased the Sony X800D earlier today so im good for at least six months, maybe longer depending on how good the 2017 models are. I wanted 120hz, wide array for local dimming and waiting on to see if next year's sets include HDR meta-data which is what is needed for gaming because it allows frame by frame HDR on the fly and not pre-determined HDR which is what the current generation of gaming can do.
For meta-data info, read the 10th post of this article -
I am trying to decide between a Samsung KS8000, LGUH8500 or a Vizio P Series. I already have the PC built just need to figure out what TV to get. Anyone have experience with 4k TV gaming?
For me, I picked the Sony TV over the Samsung for several reasons - first, I hate the connect one box and if it craps out, it makes the TV useless and costs anywhere from $130 to $200 for a used replacement so while it's very rare, I don't want to take that chance plus I just don't like it.....second, the stand is on the ends of the TV which I don't like and that leads to my third reason, I would have to buy a new TV stand since the legs would go off the stand and thus cost me an extra $100 minimum...fourth reason is that it's $1200 and I didn't want to spend that much money. Fifth reason is that overall, the difference is minimal. The Sony TV is basically a stopgap until next year's models come out which will probably start in February or March.
The Samsung KS8000 does NOT have a composite or component port so you won't be able to play the older consoles.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It could be $800-$1000 on Black Friday but of course, have to wait and see. According to rtings.com, the Samsung KS8000 is the third best of the first tier for HDR while the Sony X800D is the first best of the second tier so basically, one spot behind.

Ok I didn't realize that you had already gotten a new tv today and you said for at least 6 months. When it comes to Tv's for only 6 months sounds like a waste. I was having a hard time finding stuff about composite. I thought I found something about it but I wasn't sure. I didn't know finding a tv that can play old games would maybe be a issue. Kind of makes tv hunting even harder lol. Want to talk about this more in a PM or in the TV thread?
I didn't mean to get so in to TV talk.Comment

Highly unlikely that you'll be able to play the older consoles on a 4K TV because even if it has the ports, you would have to lower the TV every time you wanted to play to 480P or it will most likely look horrible playing an old console game on a new 4K TV.
You can post in the TV thread and I'll respond tomorrow as it's 3am, time to go to sleep. LOL.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So will e I was saying I may want a while and try to get a 55-60 inch 4k tv for around a 1000 when prices go down I just saw this tv that is 49 inch and 1100. http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ks8000
Maybe I will get this tv not sure. That would still be a solid 12 inches bigger then the tv I have right now and it is only 100 more then the 1000 I was saying I would like to spend and with holidays coming up maybe it will get cheaper in a few months. It looks to be a solid tv that is balanced when it comes to how while it does like video games, movies etc. The only thing is it may be slightly to big for my room and the current 37 inch tv I currently have on a old computer stand and it already covers the whole stand from end to end. <!-- / message --><!-- added 1/18/11 -->
I bought the Sony x850d 55" version and it's gorgeous with great viewing angles. Love it and you can find that on sale for close to $1000 I believe. It was $1499 over here in Canada on sale and I have no regrets. I wanted an IPS panel for better viewing angles and it came down to this or an LG. Samsung has decent angles but not Vizio.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It's hilarious, they basically just push the release up. You have to "preorder" to get it, but obviously going into a store and seeing it on the shelf, it's available because the game is so popular they have hella extra copies. It's kinda weird but it's like a placebo bonus for the preorder lol, I like it because it gets the game out earlier, but they really are basically just pushing the date up.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

6 reasons to buy a PS4 Pro. http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain.../#37d5e03b4ad6
I actually just got a 4K TV but it's upstairs in our family room so I wouldn't even game on it. Still wish it had a UHD player. I don't see any good reason to get the PS4 Slim myself since the games don't look any better and it lacks an optical output. The Pro is the future of the PS consoles. And I can wait for a good trade in offer of price drop in 2017. I'm fine with my current PS4.Comment
