I go to electronic section and some guy is standing in line to pay for his ps4 pro, I ask if they have any more and guy behind register said they are sold out and that was their last one.

I have the Sony X800D and can say that it's an excellent 4K TV for the price. I was looking at the Samsung KS8000 but it's just not worth double the price to me especially with Samsung and Sony (among others) most likely having better 4K TV's in 2017. The motion blur is slightly worse on the Samsung KS8000 while the input lag is slightly better. The main difference is the 1000 or so nits on the Samsung KS8000 compared to 400 or so nits on the Sony X800D but when playing games in HDR like I did with Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One and even looking at the XMB on the PS4 with the Alienation theme, you can easily see the difference and it looks very good. For $650, I can't complain about the Sony X800D.

Also, with the Samsung, the smallest screen size is 49 inches which I didn't want because I would then have to buy a bigger TV stand which adds to the cost. Didn't like the "legs" stand on the Samsung KS8000 compared to the Sony and I don't like the Connect One box that comes with the Samsung. Add in double the price including the TV stand plus tax and just not worth it when I know better 4K TV's are coming out next year.

I love Samsung and the last three HD TV's I have owned were all by Samsung but for me, the Sony one was the better overall purchase.

I'm looking to buy a PS4 but I won't be upgrading to a 4k TV before 2018. I currently just have a PS3.

Should I get the Pro? Would it be worth it to pay an extra $150-200 for the Pro over the regular PS4. (Including taxes I can get the PS4 for $237 now and the pro would be $436.)

I would say just get the pro that way once you get a 4k TV you will be able to take advantage of the 4k and HDR and considering you don't have a ps4 yet that makes me think that you are not going to be getting a ps5 on day one when it comes out in a few years or so.

As JohnDoe above me stated, if it's in the budget, go for the Pro and you won't potentially want to upgrade again in 2018. It's the same price as the PS4 was 6 months ago. If you look at it that way, it's a no brainer.

That to the fact the pro is the same price has the normal ps4 was makes it a good thing to get if you don't get a pro. If I didn't have a ps4 yet I would be all over the pro.

So I dunno what the rules are about posting links to threads in other forums, so I won't do that, but this is pretty easy to find if you want to see it.

I saw on another forum just now a thread regarding the first screenshots of Titanfall 2 on Pro at 1080p using the downsampling (is this the same thing as the supersampling technique discussed earlier in this thread) with comparison shots to vanilla PS4 and there are marked improvements in the Pro images. Very noticeable difference and it's just a still shot. Really can't wait to see Horizon running on this bad boy with my own eyes. TF2 is a game that the Devs themselves said they had to kind of rush support for the Pro so its awesome to see that even with that minimal time on it, there are still demonstrable improvements.

I gotta be honest I fist pumped when I saw them. I have been fighting a seemingly uphill battle in thread from the very beginning of the Pro rumors and it looks like some vindication is coming. Gonna love rocking the Pro on my 1080p display (and then even MORE SO on my future 4k display whenever I upgrade). Wednesday night can't get here soon enough. Let's go baby. Let's GO. I think Pro and Scorpio are both a big step in the right direction for console gaming and I can't wait to see what the future has in store.

The 1080p 60fps uploads from the Pro I have seen far (all 3 of them, admittedly) look super crisp and clean as well. LETS GO

Hard drive stuff still seems to be a mystery, however. Still waiting anxiously to find out the facts about that area

Can't wait to see some 4k stuff with my own eyes at some point as well (wanna make it clear I am not anti-4k, thats not the point of this, its that there was so much "its useless for 1080p" talk for so long, thats what I am referring to. 4k is awesome and 4k is the future, dont get me wrong, 4k and 1080p users are gonna be happy with the Pro and Scorpio for a long time)

If you won't have a 4K till after 2018, get a regular ps4. By the time you're ready to upgrade your tv in 2018/19, they'll be some new Sony thing everyone is slobbering over, so the pro will be pretty cheap by then.

You are lucky that either you are single or your wife knows not what you do. My wife would KILL me if I went and bought that next week.



It'll have to be like a Christmas story, I have to start dropping hints and working it in until gradually she will accept it.



Or I will buy it when she's at work, swap it out with my PS4, then hope she doesn't notice that what once looked like a double cheeseburger is now a triple cheeseburger

Thanks everyone for your input. It's been a super busy time in my life the last 5 years (had 3 kids in that time) and the PS4 was the first time since the original Nintendo that I didn't jump on new generation hardware within the first year.

I've waited this long...so I think I will skip some of the awesome PS4 slim deals this holiday season and wait to see what the Pro means for games like the Show, Gran Turismo Sport, PES, NBA 2k and Driveclub.

but ive heard from ppl BUYIng and having the ks's as having horible motion blur 2 ppl on this forum went from it to a sony?

i trust rtings too but just cant give up what i got now

I have the ks8000 and have no issues with motion blur. There was 1 game I was able to tell motion blur until the last update on the tv now it's tons better. I have no issue at all with it and the input lag is very low too.

Smart move. The pro isn't that much more and has extra storage space. 500 GB is small. It manageable for one person but I had to upgrade to 1 TB with my kids games. Don't discount the fact the pro comes with the larger hard drive.

I would bet that when horizon zero dawn comes out in February there will he a Pro console bundle with it. I may consider upgrading then.

I know the site, I was just stating that since you are telling me you trust them then read the reviews on gaming big screen tvs which has Samsung as tops due to the low input lag in HDR and standard game mode.

Get the KS8500 and you will be blow away

I respect your opinion but curved tvs i dont do
