Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So apparently "only like 10 people" at my GS pre-ordered the Pro but they are still doing the midnight release due to the "pricetag and premium enthusiast nature of the product." These words are straight from the GS guy who is gonna be running it. He said I don't even need to show up early to get a number or anything just come at 10. Good stuff."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Nice! I'm still on the fence if I'm going to jump up to the Pro, I have the samsung KS8000 UHD HDR tv so I'm set on that front. Really comes down to what I decide to trade in, I got a vanilla 1tb PS4 and debating if I want to part ways with my xb1 s that is getting virtually no play time. That will net my about $300 trade credit so pro only about $100 out of pocket if I do pull the trigger on it, which isn't too bad

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Two things:
A.) Dickey asked about 2TB drives a few pages ago. I brought up a SSD and a standard drive. I just found out there is a new hybrid drive that is 2TB and I think runs for about 140, its called the Firecuda. Right now it is sold out nationwide apparently though, at least the laptop version is. If you look for it to put a backorder in for it make sure you are getting the 2.5 inch version, the laptop version, not the 3.5 inch desktop version.
This is probably the drive I will switch to once it becomes available again. Only issue is I think it only has 8gb NAND as opposed to 32 or greater with some other hybrid drives that are smaller. (this basically means that the actual SSD portion of the hybrid drive is only 8 gigs).
-------------------------------------
B.)
I could use some advice and I am sorry if this is completely off topic. Not trying to derail anything, I promise.
When I used to sell things on CL, which I have done quite often over the years with only success and positive experiences (I have a pretty thorough vetting process to pick a buyer I feel confident is legit) I have never had a problem just letting them come to my house.
It's been a little while and things are a little different. I live with a dog who is pretty aggro to strangers, and it's just a headache anytime someone comes in the dog isn't familiar with. Also, I am in the worst physical shape of my life and just don't feel confident to handle myself if something were to go down, which wasn't an issue years ago. This sucks to admit, but it's true.
I am gonna put my PS4 Slim on CraigsList today and I am sure I will get a number of offers pretty quickly. I am offering to throw in either a 1tb hybrid drive or a 1.5 TB standard drive as well as including a game (either DOOM or Rock band 4) so I imagine I will get 220 or 240 for it pretty easily.
What are viable options to meeting someone public for an exchange like this? Is my only real option just to record a video of me using the PS4 and saying things in context to the sale to prove its legit? Any tips here would be great. Obviously proving the PS4 is in as good of shape as I claim it is, is a big part of the sale.
SO PUMPED for the Pro. Considering taking Thursday off from work but it might be tacky of my to use a day off only 5 weeks into the new job. I will probably just have it downloading all my digital stuff all day and then hit it hard Thursday night!
Some PS4 are selling for like 150 and others at 300 but CL is a place where lowballs are the standard
They know a PRO is coming so they know people are desperate to sell. I would offer it with Uncharted 4 and Doom and you can get 220 but hard drives I find are irrelevant to people...just get a number and name along with email address and do a quick google checkComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
300 for 2 systems is crazy. The only way I would do it is if you know you are never going to want to play the xboxone again. Me I don't get rid of systems because I still like to go back and play old games and systems from time to time. Right now I have SNES, GC, wii, Wii u, ps3 and ps4 all hocked into my tv.Comment

Yea I'm like 97% not getting rid of it for that off chance I want to play one of the games I have on there again, I'm the type that kicks around a ton of ideas in my head and out loud until I convince myself that's it's probably not a smart idea, lol

PlayStation 4 Discussion
This is why I don't trade in games. Yeah a PS4 or Xbox One isn't worth much to sell or trade in BUT when you bundle a bunch of games then you can sell on Craigslist or eBay for a good sum. I sold my Xbox 360 with 70 games for $450. This was right when PS4 came out. A large portion of my 70 games was like Madden 11, Madden 12, etc... But that doesn't matter as the buyer only sees 70 freaking games, LOL
Also, selling as a bundle around Christmas, like right now I mean, helps a TON too.
I would NEVER trade in two consoles for $300 anywhere. That's a huge ripoff!! You could easily bundle just one system, like the PS4 with a bunch of old games and a an older controller or two and get $300 on CL.
And the best part of it too is you will likely help out some parent to make their kids Christmas awesome. Most kids would much rather get a used system with a bunch of games and an extra controller than get one new system with 1 game and 1 controller.

You make a good point about kids and wanting game. The other thing is you said like 70 games and system for $450 and then compare that to how much you spent on the system and those games. With it being much more that you spent then what you are getting for it I would kind of fell bad for getting rid of it. It would kind of be like buying a car for $30000 and then at some point trading it in for $3000 even though it runs while still. Knowing that you are getting so much less back then what you spent back just makes me fell bad lol.Comment
