Let's also keep in mind. We're comparing the games that support it right now. Those games are also existing games that may not have had a lot of effort dumped into them.

There will be other games coming out and we'll see how good they look. The list isn't static.

Everyone I've seen who's hyped up the system on a 1080p tv is doing it without something else to compare it to. So of course it looks great. But this thread is nothing but arguing and tv hunting at this point.

And for the comments above about posting negative articles about the Pro. When everyone said they want to use Digital Foundry as their resource for the system, can't just post their positive impressions. They've had two negative impressions on games today alone. That's just reporting news in here. Unfortunately it's not all unicorns and rainbows.

I'll probably just wait til I get a 4k hdr tv before I get the PS4 Pro. For me there's not enough to make me get the system for my current 1080p tv. Still enjoying all your guys impressions makes me look forward to it in the future.

I haven't said anything about how games look or don't look on 4k displays because I don't have a 4k display so I don't know. The other poster doesn't play the Pro on a 1080p display but is trying to tell people what to think based on hearsay. That's crap. Straight BS.

That part I just bolded is an opinion, not fact.

A lot of people and reviews I have seen say that the pro is not worth getting in less you have a pro but with that said I think you do a good job posting your thoughts and impressions on things and keep them going. You are a good poster on here.

Wouldn't they be comparing it against their previous captures or memories of the old system? That's what the reviews are doing. It's not like they purchased games just for the new system. They played the games on base system.

Further, not everything is cosmetic. Improved/stable frame rates are important as well. BF1 appears to be much more stable without having to give up anything to get it. Huge benefit.

Not everything is positive, but it's new hardware. Early adopters should know what they're getting into.

One thing to keep in mind is that you are using the Pro on a COMPUTER MONITOR. Most people here are gaming on TV's in their living room and supersampled images on a 1080p screen are going to be less evident when you are playing 8 feet away from the the TV.

Well. Memories would be a placebo.

Previous captures wouldn't be on the new system.

Most review sites I saw had both systems up and running with both types of tv's.

And I agree with you. There's plenty of positives with the system. It seems like a fantastic piece of hardware. If people are happy then like I originally said, sit back and enjoy it. No reason to keep going back and forth about silly details.

If you've ever been into PC gaming you'd know all too well the difference FPS makes, much more than just about anything related to gaming. A high FPS means the game is so much easier and fun to play, a lower FPS, or even marginal can make for quite the frustrating experience.

Were those pictures a joke? The angles make the faces hilarious!

Interesting reading comments about not discerning 30 FPS from 60. It's not a "squint your eyes and you'll see" kind of thing, nor is it a "can't tell unless it's side-by-side" thing either. Some people are led to believe that screen size would affect it as well. None of these are really true if you're perceptible to it. Strange to think that some "aren't," though. 60 FPS is butter-smooth in comparison. Well worth certain resolution sacrifices to maintain at a consistent level, all depending on the title.

I don't really consider memories as placebo. For some people maybe. Some things just pop and if you've played a game for 500+ hours, you'll know how the game plays, especially if you're remember specific things, like crispness, frame rate dips and just general responsiveness.

I played Rocket League for hundreds of hours on PS4, PC and Xbox. I could immediately tell you the differences. You could show me a video and I'd be able to tell you the platform.

I'm assuming people backed up their captures and/or shared them on YT.

We're lucky ppl to even get a PS4 PRO and to play video games. I think I even forget just how privileged i am to.

                              That said.

I look forward to enjoying Sony content even more so now than i did before with my PRO.

I also am now seriously considering a 4k tv MUCH sooner than later. If not only to enjoy the PRO more but to also enjoy the equally good Xbox One S
