There's over 20 games already running in native 4K and the system just came out. I'm going to say the next madden will be 4K native with HDR and many of the future titles too. It's going to take some time. You have to see some of these games for yourself in person to see how good they look. Videos don't really do them justice especially with HDR.

System Software 4.07 now downloading on my system, kind of big as far as system updates go at 312 MB. Will post again if I see it adds anything interesting.

Edit: LOL, it's more or less a re-wording of the usual "stability" update:

"This system software update improves the quality of the system performance"

I love 4K HDR but give me 60fps.

Sounds like waiting a couple months won't hurt me with the ks8000. The show will likely get me to grab a pro.

Hopefully by then they have things smoothed out and I don't have to find hoops to jump through to achieve 4k.

Do you guys ever think console games will hit 60fps consistently across the board? It seems like that promise is the carrot they keep placing in front of us. It was a prominent promise before the PS4 came out and then again when they started talking about the PRO.

At some point the return on visuals diminishes and advances in other areas needs to be worked on.

I like ROTTR in 4K mode, but love it in high framerate mode.

No. If the developers wanted the games to be 60 FPS, they would be. They could turn down some settings and choose not to. Unfortunately, a large portion of the consumer base doesn't care and many people say they can't tell the difference.

This. I wouldn't worry with the Pro if you don't have a good 4K HDR TV. If your TV is 8-9 years old like mine was (I had a 2007-2008 Polaroid LCD TV) I would invest in a good TV before even thinking about the Pro.

I kept my old PS4 for a few days after getting my Pro and compared them. In my opinion, the jump from old to TV to new TV is greater than the jump from old PS4 to PS4 Pro.

Yeah, super bowl is probably the next round of TV sales unless you're into buyers remorse shopping and are watching for open box deals.

I meant I can wait to get the Pro. I got the KS8000 at the $1497 price.

                        I worded that really poorly.

IF you have the funds, I would personally recommend you get the Pro, especially if you have more than a few of the Pro-enabled games already released, and those games are ones you currently give play time to. I got the same deal as you on the KS8000, and picked up the Pro at the same time, and I would do it over again if given the choice.

I'm intrigued by the ks8000/PS4 Pro combo. I may consider it in March.

Honestly, if you think you're going to get it in March, I would advise you to get it now while the PS4 trade in value is still pretty high, if you can afford it. I don't think it's going to be too different in 4 months.

You may not reap 4K benefits just yet, but you'll save a few bucks I bet.
