Press Options on Battlefield 1 in the PS4 home screen. Somewhere there is an option to check for any updates.

I knew that TLG would get good reviews. I was thinking it would get like a 90 on metacritic. It is not that high but a 83 is still a solid score and from what a lot of people where saying I think a lot of people where expecting more like a 65-75 score for this game and I kind of have a felling that if not for the 10 years or so of hype for this game that its 83 would be even higher has I think there are some people that may have gave it say a 7 instead of a 8 or a 8 instead of a 9 just because of its hype of being so long for this game to come out.

^ Only negative that I'm hearing is that it has the overarching feeling of a PS2/PS3 game at its core. I guess I can live with it. I'm in it for the story.

Probably going to get this one for Christmas. Hope to stay off the Internet for spoiler reasons regarding this game until I can get my hands on it!

My collectors edition is now on the way got finals on wed so I am trying to get my studying done and some final home work. Hopefully I can get it done or mostly done tonight so I have time to play tomorrow after work. But yeah this game just looks special and really different to me.

For all those with a KS8000 and the PS4 Pro, is there anyway to verify that the PS4 Pro is pushing HDR (and the HDMI cable is capable) without getting one of the HDR-enabled games? I'm guessing I could download the Resident Evil demo?

I'm getting HDCP 2.2 and 4k on the video settings screen as being output, but I have no way of verifying my existing cable is capable of HDR unless I have a HDR source.

Ps4 is going to out sale ps3 for sure but I am wondering if it can catch ps2 numbers or not. I think it will most likely catch wii numbers. I think in about 2 years we will know if it can catch ps2 or not. But right now still going very strong.

I think my OG PS4 is dying so I got a PS4 Slim with that Amazon deal. I love the instant trade in Amazon does now so the whole thing cost me $50 (I traded in a couple other things including Uncharted 4 from the Slim that's on the way). Not bad!

I couldn't justify the Pro. Nothing has impressed me at all with that system, I don't own a 4K tv and won't any time soon. So going with the Slim as I also wanted a really quiet system, the last few weeks my PS4 has sounded like it's ready for take off in my family room.

My PRO experience has been a DUD.

They(Naughty Dog) JUST released a second patch that now eliminates checkerboarding to 1080p on The Last of US. essentially now aking it only native 1080p with 60 fps and then native 4k at 60fps. they RIPPED away the downsampling for 1080p displays. I am Furious

SRSLY do not buy the PRO

The PS4 Pro situation is just a mess. The whole thing just feels like the wild west. There's no standardization in anything being done. Features and implementations are announced (or not) and then they're gone in the next patch. TLOU issue is strange in that it was an announced feature for 1080p users in the blog, and then the latest patch removed it. Apparently they also removed the feature from the blog as well. I haven't seen an official comment either. I hate to say it, but if you're a 1080p user and you don't need optical sound, I can't recommend the pro. It's just a mess right now.

Even as a 4K user myself, things aren't perfect either. Some games implement Pro enhancements correctly by giving the user a choice - do you want better graphics or better framerate? Other games just force it on you, requiring you to toggle resolutions on PS4 hardware just to get the original game upscaled with better performance (FF XV). If the game runs like garbage on a higher resolution, I don't want it. I don't care what it looks like. There are so many games right now that dip below their target frame rate significantly that it makes sense to use the extra power to deliver a performance mode. Honestly, they should have put something into the OS that made developers expose "modes". The OS could then display the modes available "Performance or Pretty" with an optional check box that saves your choice forever for people that don't want to be bothered. That way, each game would have a similar Pro experience in terms of enhancement level. Developers then wouldn't have to worry about working on an UI for it. They would just get an option from the OS and they would adjust the game based on the option.

Right now, we're stuck with whatever the developer wants to do and most of the time is just feels slapped on. Some developers/publishers can't even be bothered to tell you what they did for the Pro version. They just simply say "Implemented Pro Support". Okay, and that means what exactly?

The whole thing feels like Sony isn't entirely sure what it's doing. They're just figuring out stuff as it's going on. They pushed it out the door to hit a date (Holiday season). While sales may be solid (not sure how well the Pro is doing), they may be having some regrets about how they've handled this. Announcing features and then taking them away without saying anything isn't a great look.

Yes, when you play an HDR-enabled game, the screen should go black, and then comes back in HDR mode and also the info display on the KS8000 will inform you you're watching an HDR-enabled input. You can also verify this by pushing the 123 button, and then move over to the info icon, and HDR will appear in the upper right along with resolution information.

Cool, so I haven't gotten that, so I guess to make sure my older cable can handle HDR I should download the Resident Evil demo and use it to test?

Yes, it looks like RE should have HDR at this point. If you use the HDMI cable that came with the Pro, you'll have a capable cable

Yeah, my issue is that I only have a single cable between my shelving and TV (built-in large shelving/fireplace/tv mount) and getting a 2nd cable or the One Connect cable in is a chore. So I'm relying heavily on that one cable (previous owner did that).

It is most likely your cable, esp if that's been there for a while.
