Anyone ever experience issues with the controller not charging when plugged into the system via USB cord?

And on the same topic, has anyone used a charging station for the Dualshock 4? Do they work pretty well?

I haven't noticed it myself and haven't used a charging station. I'd be interested in hearing how well they work, too.

I do have another controller issue though...every once in a while, I'll go to start up my PS4 by pressing the PS button on a controller. The system won't turn on and the controller just flashes like it's searching. I can manually turn the system on but that doesn't connect the controller. I've tried a bunch of different things, including connecting the flashing controller to the PS4 via USB, but the only surefire fix I've found is unplugging the system and plugging it back in. Any thoughts on what is causing this and a better/safer way to address it? I've done some googling but can't seem to find any answers.

I just bought a couple of the wall plugs adapters and cords off amazon I always keep my 2 controllers charges and the platinum headset charged

With the Pro? I have the same issue.... I was playing the new episode of walking dead frontier and it froze.. First freeze ever on my system and I had to Unplug

Yeah, this is the Energizer charge station that I've used since 2014 and works fantastic...$18

I quit charging via the cable for the reason you cite, didn't seem reliable.

EDIT: that above is what shows on amazon I bought but the one I use looks like this so I think Energizer changed their look..this one above appears to use a different type of connector too. I don't use any connector at all on mine, just sit it on the charger and it charges.

This is what I'm dealing with right now, I cant make my pro my primary system at this time and its p pissing me off. The last PS4 I had i wiped it.

Now my son cant play any games on my PS4 Pro. Contacted Sony and there support is good for nothing, what the hell do i do now???? help


Every time I try to activate as Primary console its gives me an error saying down for maintenance which is BS.

They couldn't deactivate old systems so you can make this one primary? Your son can still play if you're logged into the game first though.

Not sure but check your USB power settings on the PS4. Any chance you've got the power turned off or a low timer if on Rest mode? Not sure about all the options in there but it may be the issue. I know in Rest mode you can set how long the system lets the USB charge things before they shut down.

If you are playing while charging a controller I would think it's not a good sign though.

You can deactivate from the Sony PC website.

Go here and login:

https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/liquid/home/index!display.action

Then click on Devices. Then it will show all of your devices. Select the one you want and deactivate it.

Just FYI you can only deactivate from the website once every 6 months. That's why I was screwed after forgetting to do it to my Slim before getting the Pro. Was finally about to do it again last week

correct, I cant make my Pro my Primary system and if I cant make it my primary, then my son can only play games under my name and not gues. Its frustrating.
