I called Squaretrade and got the 3 year plan with Accidental Damage Protection included, for $51.99! Couldn't have been less painless! Thanks so much for the tip to CALL them! It saved me about $30!

I really don't care about the color. As for the touchpad I really hope developers use it to add to the experience.
Gaming needs to keep going forward.
Thankfully it has for the most part ot we'd still be using a stick and 1 button.

Yeah I like what you said here. The touchpad really seems pretty responsive, I was messing around with it on Escape Plan just basically moving my finger around back and forth and it is spot on. I hope games start finding pretty creative ways to use the DS4 and take advantage of the cool things it can do.

I wish the touchpad would change colors with recolored DS4s.

I actually don't really like any of them. It's comfortable as hell and that's all that matters, but I think the DS4 is kinda ugly to look at because of that touchpad.

I'm hoping in a few years when no games are using the thing they'll release a version without it.

Well I just picked up killzone after trading COD and really like what they're doing with the touchpad. Seems like the 3rd party developers will have to be more creative in finding uses for something thats not available on every platform.

That said it's pretty promising we'll get some pretty cool features out of it and I hope developers take advantage of everything at their disposal as that means better gaming for us!

We are working on incorporating the touchpad more in games. The challenge is to find a way to incorporate it, without it feeling unnecessarily tacked on just for the sake of having it.

For example, you should be able to draw out your hot routes on the touchpad soon instead of having to select a button. However, after the newness factor wears off, youll find people going back to just hitting a button instead. One game has created a way for you to write small notes via the touchpad as well. Similar to the credit / debit card machines that you see at all your local stores, or the UPS / FedEx scanners that you sign.

My guess is in a year or so, forcing people to buy extra regular DS4s now and then decide later if they want even more controllers with color.

That tends to be how it goes usually.

It was happening to me, and I fixed it by popping out the trigger then wiping down the connector post.

They seriously need to do something about turning this light off on the controller he eats up the battery way too quickly

Yea the battery life is no where near what the DS3 was and I think the light plays a large role in that.

You guys sure it's the light? LEDs are usually energy sippers...

I'd personally guess that it's the touchpad constantly being on that would draw energy, but just a guess. It's the only other major change I can think of besides light.

It is not everyday we get a controller with a built in forensic light. Embrace it!
