Yeah, such an absolute statement like that was pretty off the wall. Ram is certainly part of the equation, but it's probably the least significant variable.

I like the "Focused on a gaming machine" comments but we'll never really know until all the facts come out. While I have a Kinect I could lose it tomorrow and not care. I do however like the idea of a touch screen controller as it can, if done right, add a lot to the gaming.
Bottom line is whichever console I feel will be bringing the best gaming goods I'm on it.
I'd love to have both systems but just can't keep up supporting multiple platforms.
Really pumped to hear all the info the next few months.
Games are important to me and Sony has shown that they will take chances with new IP's this generation while MSFT has really scaled back. It looks like MSFT might be getting some new titles ready for the next console from reports. Not sure how many of them are motion controlled but we shall see if both continue down that path.

Here is the most up to date information/rumor about the PS4 (Orbis).

Digital Foundry presents hard data on the technology inside Sony's new console... and its upcoming Xbox rival.

Lol, I ask for a new controller and now theres rumors of one. To bad they look like they operate worse than the old ones which is pretty bad.

PS4: Sony Will Let Microsoft Make First Move

You may have noticed that there are lots of rumours flying about regarding next-gen consoles. No one knows definitely when Microsoft and Sony will unveil their successors to the current Xbox and PlayStation, but Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai has said that it will let Microsoft make the first move.

In the Business section of The Times today, Hirai said, "Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?"

With Nintendo already out the next-gen blocks with the Wii U, can Sony hold its bottle until the Microsoft announces? Surely his comments are slightly disingenuous, since there would be relatively little scope for changing the specs of the PlayStation this late in its development cycle. It's more likely that the additional time would be use to adjust the messaging surrounding the announcement.

                      Consoles delayed indefinately.

                        This is my favorite comment:

Hirai will watch XBOX720 announcement live on TV with an open Playtation 4 in front of him, he will have a 4GB RAM stick in his left hand and a 8GB RAM stick in his right hand, which one of those 2 will he put in the opened console will depend entirely on what Microsoft says in their Press Conference.

Hirai will then proceed to close the Ps4 box while screaming "it's ready, ship it ship it!!!"

I think that's a BS CEO like quote... both companies are already set so this late in development there won't be much tweaking I'd assume.

As the article said, it's not so much in terms of development as it is how the console will be pitched in its first announcement.

They had a year and decided showing the PS3 levitating in room was good marketing instead of games. Weeks/months aren't going to do much, this is just then working the news cycle to keep people talking.

I think they're just trying to beat the other in terms of setting a price right out the gate.

I know when the PS3 first announced I was like "I'm never getting a 600$ gaming system". Hopefully they open up with a more reasonable price out of the gate.
