I actually didn't get a PS3 or 360 until they were out for a little while.
I may cave on the PS4 this time around, but I can't go no more than 5 hundred because of having to buy a game or two.
I also won't purchase if they do something similar to before with a 5/6 option and the 6 has a lot more features and such.
I just want a fair priced standard console release (which doesn't happen anymore). $500 is a fair price for something if it will last me years and give me as much enjoyment as I have got out of either my PS3 or 360.
Hoping for $399 but expecting $499. I will balk at $599, not going there again.
Yeah, I'm not doing that again either. I bought the 60gb and Resistance, I think with tax and all it was around $720 or so. Maybe there will be subscription plans too.
I EASILY get more than $500 worth of entertainment from my PS3. Would I like to see cheaper? Obviously. But I'll still drop $500 without question knowing how much use the system will get.

I agree 100%. I've dropped a couple hundred bucks to go see the Chiefs play several times over the years, and I think you all could guess how enjoyable that was.
I can see myself paying 600$ again if there's enough games on release and if it looks promising. Considering I would most likely trade both my systems in, I could possibly cut that price down to a small level. I am so excited for the 20th.

Easily.
I've dropped much more on television monitors that I don't think I've turned on in months.(I'm not much of a tv/movie watcher).
My PS3 is in constant use.
If someone told me....2 bucks a day for your entertainment purposes......I'd hand it over without even thinking.
I wonder when preorders will start. I'll be in NYC the week of the 18th and won't be coming back home util the 21st. May just decide to preorder online.

I think the press confrence next month is just "Hey here is your first look at the PS4. We will have more info to share at E3."
MLB: Chicago Cubs
NFL: San Diego Chargers
NHL: Chicago Blackhawks
NBA: Chicago Bulls
NCAA: Iowa Hawkeyes
For me, it's all about what comes around with it. If the PS4 is pushing completely new technology and forcing me to sell my old stuff to take advantage of/maximize its capabilities (like 4K or what have you), then I'll just wait it out for four or five years. Seriously.
Otherwise, I could cave within two summers. I'm not upgrading to a PS4 within its first year, though. You can put that in writing.
