Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It sounds like they were being cautious at the beginning so they didn't disappoint. Pretty standard under promise, over deliver.
I'm not gonna buy more than one system, but if I can sell it for double so I don't end up paying for the console a month or so later, I'll definitely do it. Anything less than double, I'll probably pass.
Even if there was a shortage, I think way too many are preordering more than one in hopes of flipping one to pay for theirs. Ebay and Craigslist will be flooded with all of these systems bringing the overall price much lower and closer to retail making it a waste of time. When Microsoft sold Forza Horizon this past winter at 1/2 price, it was only going off at $5 above that on Ebay since so many had purchased multiple copies trying to profit.
I honestly think this time around, Sony is better prepared. Plus, it has been a long time since two systems released virtually at the same time which will cut into each others profits. Had it only been one system being released, I think demand would have exceeded supply.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have little doubt demand will drastically increase as we move closer to the holidays especially when all of the commercials hit. Trust me, I am one of those hoping to flip so that mine will be fully paid for.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Cut and copied this for you.
The technical specs of the PlayStation 4 are impressive, running at "almost" 2 teraflops with 8GB of ram. This is in-line with recent technical spec leaks, which placed the GPU at 1.84 teraflops and the CPU at 1.9 GHz. On a pure processing power level this puts the PS4's GPU around a mid-high end current PC GPU, similar to nVidia's GTX 660 card, but it's hard to guage true performance from raw power. Actual performance is based on many unknown factors like width and speed of the bus.
Here's the official listing of the PS4 specification as it stands:

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
500GB HD is beyond what I expected, by about 400GB at the least.--

This astounds me. I would have been disappointed and surprised by anything less.
Storage space is cheaper than ever, especially with SSD gaining traction. I put a 1 TB in my ps3 for ~$75 and that was retail price. I'll be doing the same for the quad since 500 GB is still nowhere near enough.badComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Has there been any indications as to how large games will be? It's still Blu-Ray so probably not bigger than 30 GB on a single disc game, right? (that's an estimate, I didn't actually look up the capacity of a Blu-Ray disc).Comment

I believe you can do double sided blu ray or whatever it's called and it's 50-60GB but I don't know what the PS4 will use.MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
This is all why I'm waiting to decide. IMO there's still a ton of info out there left to be released.
Especially since Sony's requiring PS+ for online gaming now, I'd like to see some improvements due to that.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I want conclusive info on the new PSN. Sony has just shown us some games and a system.
