This Gizmodo article is interesting. They are saying why they think MS abandoning the DRM/24 hour internet checks is actually bad for gamers. It makes some sense, but why couldn't they still use licenses attached to games, then disable that license once the game is traded in? I also don't see why this means you wouldn't be able to trade in digital games.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Honestly, I think they realized how their plan to let you share you games with 10 people was more costly than used game delimma. Never understood the 10 person sharing entire game library but could not buy a used game.
Now, get rid of required kinect, drop the price even and we might have a race.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Still sticking with PS4 after today's news. I definitely don't have the expenses to support 2 consoles plus a gaming PC. Main reasons:
1. Indie devs. The past year of 2 I've grown increasingly tired of AAA games, namely FPS' which I've just been burnt out on lately. I'd rank my experiences with Bastion, Mark of the Ninja, FTL, Fez, Hotline Miami, Spelunky, Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, etc. higher than I've gotten out of the gazillion FPS' released in the past 3 years. I know some indie devs will still have stuff on the One (like Below) but the majority will be PS4 and PC.
2. Gaikai streaming. Microsoft hasn't announced any backward compatability yet for their console. I never had a PS3 so the prospect of getting to play Journey,Last of Us, Beyond, Uncharted, MGS4 appeals to me.
3. Microsoft just put me off from the start with the attitude they showed during E3. Even during their statement today it sounded like they were resentful they had to do a 180 because no one agreed with their view of the "future".
Also it still seems like most of OS is still going PS4. That will tide me over for a few years until I wait for video card prices to drop and then upgrade the 560TI in my PC so it can outperform the consoles.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

I only mention Nvidia because you have a 560 now.Comment

). From what I've read a 770 will provide better performance than what's on the consoles. They are $400 now but I'd also need to upgrade my power supply a little bit and I'm not sure if I would need to upgrade my i5 Sandy Bridge CPU or not. I'm wait and see on that front.

Waiting for the 700s to drop (or a Titan). From what I've read a 770 will provide better performance than what's on the consoles. The PS4 is running on what equates to a 7870.
I know my 680s can blow what the next gen of consoles offers out of the water. The 660s outperform the 7870.
Here's a direct link of the 7870 vs the 570.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The 660 will perform at about the same level as a PS4. The consoles this next gen are nowhere near as powerful when compared to PC as opposed to how favorably they compared at release last gen.

Not that it makes too much difference to me as I can run Infinite at full detail on 1600x900 (native monitor res) which makes me happier than a pig in ****.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Question for you - how does an Intel 860 compare to what's in these next-gen consoles? Because aside from that it seems that my PC is right up to spec with the PS4 (7870, 8 GB of RAM). I ask about the I7 because it looks like it only has 4 cores (and 8 threads) to the PS4's 8 core Jaguar AMD.

So how long after release do you think until we see some games in Redbox? A $2-$6 trial (depending how long you need) is imo a wonderful thing before buying. Especially for launch/near launch titles that are a wait-and-see before purchasing type game.

I'll download DriveClub, just because it's free. I'll do the same for War Thunder when it comes out. I'm definitely going to pick up The Order 1886. I think Planetside 2 will be a PC/PS4 exclusive when it comes out and I'm interested in that one. Wolfenstein: The New Order looks interesting but I'm not sure if it's a PS4 exclusive or not. I like The Crew and I think it's a PS4 Exclusive. But DriveClub is the only one out of all of those that will be Launch.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
