And the first one was revolutionary.
I have yet to try out this one, but I hear the reviews are stellar. May have to DL it on my PC soon.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Just checking in to reaffirm (sp) my commitment to the Playstation 4. While the gamers voice and the numbers have spoken, I would like to thank Sony for sticking up for what gamers want with their stance on gaming from the get go.
They are clearly more in tune with what gamers want right now. Microsoft was caught looking too far ahead and IMO they went from having a future purchase from me to never buying one.
I just don't care for the flip flopping and suddenly trying to pretend like they care about gamers. Their initial response to the backlash about their console policies says otherwise.Comment

Count me in as happy for the XBox dedicated. Gamers have spoken, we win as a whole.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Of all the professions, after all, few people are less suited to be suddenly thrown into the public eye than chefs. We're used to doing what we do in private, behind closed doors.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Damn right. No way a BS statement from MS saying they listened will change my mind now. Only thing they heard were the poor preorder numbers and their sales managers crying. Sony told us what we wanted to hear from the start. Most of us were skeptical for good reason, but they confirmed it at E3. They have my business now until they lose perspective again, but hopefully this will keep them in check as competition gives us choice.
I have not seen a reason yet WHY it would BENEFIT anyone to check in online all the time and have DRM restrictions and so on.
So in my mind I'm buying a PS4 and only a PS4 (haven't own Sony since PS1) this will only change in a scenario where Xbox is truly doing things ps4 can't and stick to not going the big-brother route.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sticking with PS4. Price, no required Kinect, and frankly, even though I like the Xbox controller better, I need a change. Plus, baseball!
I saw many people I have gamed with for years flipping back to Xbox after the news yesterday, and I just can't understand it to be honest. If price would have dropped, I would have been very inclined to do the same simply out of staying with what I know, but they didn't. Two of my better friends are also sticking with PS4, and that also seals the deal.
I just don't get the Xbox One love right now. It's great they dropped DRM, but the biggest thing they had going for them was their plan. I didn't fully agree with it, but I never cared about the DRM portion as I've said many times, it was the online check in (also now removed) and the required Kinect. With the removal of their family share, every game disc or otherwise in the cloud, DRM trade in of digital games plan, they are the same as PS4 now. Love or hate their plan, they had one, and they got rid of it after a week of pressure. It's one of the things I hated about the 360, it seemed to evolve and change almost to the point of me hating turning the thing on. The dash got so ridiciously slow that it's a pain to move around in.
So now both systems have similar specs, just one of them costs $100 more because it has a camera required.
We're looking at PS4 being $520 for system, camera and a year of PS+
XBox One comes in at $560 for system, camera and a year of XBox Live.
Microsoft evened the playfield IF, big IF, you care about a camera. If not, well, then it's really no contest and comes down to exclusives.
I'm hoping PSN is as good as Xbox Live has been over the years. Because now these systems will be defined by the games that we play.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The DRM policies weren't alone keeping me from XBOX, so my choice does not change at all after the revelation of MS's flip-flopping. I find it incredibly laughable what they have managed to do. But I digress, the dollar speaks infinitely louder than any single voice.
I like what Sony has done to focus on the gamer. That's all I really care about; plus their management of independent gamers allows for me to try a lot more games than I would otherwise.
I get the majority seems to want nothing but digital content, but I still prefer my physical collection. I do not see the "cloud" as being the answer yet--to me there are still too many questions and imperfections like unreliability. Plus the DRM issue.
If physical sales ever truly disappear, I'm not entirely sure what I'll do. Call me old-fashioned, I guess, but as I already said, that tangible possession offers me at least some security that I don't feel with cloud/digital-only content.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
As I've stated before, jwilphl. The moment the companies go to an "All Digital" Console (which I don't see happening for a long, long time), I will no longer be a "gamer".--

I cannot see myself buying an all digital console, either. Good thing I have my retro collection to keep me occupied when the time comes.Comment
