I remember hearing about the latest update bricking consoles that had a larger HDD upgrade, they removed the update.

But I'm firing up my PS3 tonight (first time in a real long time) and it is prompting me to update, it's ok to do so right?

My second question is this, where would I find the original Spyro download? Was it a PS One or PSII game? I forget.

I have some money left in my wallet on the console so I was thinking about DLing it.

EDIT: Everything I've read seems ok, DLing the update.

I use wireless on both of my consoles and the 360 is definitely faster than the PS3 on my end.

Just took me over 6 hours to download LBP Karting. My PS3 downloads have always been way slower than 360, but this one was a new low.

Well the slow download speeds on PSN for the PS3 were explained pretty well, thanks trapper.

It has always been the same for me, total night & day between my 360 and PS3 DL's. 360 would blaze in comparison to my PS3. I guess that's one of the reasons I hardly use my PS3. DLing a system update right now.

Most likely you are downloading an update prior to the latest one released last week (v4.45)... I think it was v4.41 or so.

In any case, the one thing that I wish any of the consoles have in the near future is the ability to preload preordered games like how you can with Steam. That way once it's the date of a game's release, you can play once it hits midnight or whenever they set the arbitrary time.

Thanks for that explanation! My ps3 is on wifi and downloads are slow I get dropped a lot more in 2k games and suffer lag in black ops.

But in my 360 same exact games but downloads are much much faster and lag is not like the ps3

But a wired connection is the best hands down .

I'm out in the sticks. I would LOVE 6 hours. I think I am going on 24 hours now and I am at 60% done.. I would have never been able to own an xbone if it was going to be all digital.

Bought. Don't even have to see anything. Just so bought!

Would be cool if the Vita version had different levels and puzzles as a great companion version, but not "needed" if you get one or the other.

Here's a handy little graphic for everyone who's wondering what games come out for which console and when. These are obviously just for what's been announced so far, but Sony's holding out on some game announcements for Gamescom in August and TGS in September.



I'm kind of excited about some of the F2P stuff Sony is offering, namely Warframe and Planetside 2. I'm also curious to see what games haven't been announced yet that are in development by some of the various Sony studios. They've mentioned multiple times that they have 30 exclusive games in the works through their various studios (20 of them being released in first year of PS4), with 12 of them being new IPs.

Yeah, I've looked into the Spyro games before, best bet is to check wiki for a guide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyro_(series)#Releases

So since money is tight, I decided to pre order my P4 from my local gamestop since they were still taking launch day pre orders, I got $357 for everything I traded in and when I told the guy put it towards the P4, he says why?

I say cause I like Sony brand better, he says wow, the One is going to be better, I laugh. He then tell me that MS is stealing all Sony exclusives..I said really, that's news to me.. then I explain that's Sony machine looks a bit faster specs wise and is running DDR5 memory while the one is running DDR3, he says that's a lie, and they both have DDR3, I then say give me my receipt and have a good day homer..

what an idiot.

so my P4 is basically paid for. Happy today
