Madden 2001 on PS2 was a huge leap forward actually.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I think devs are more ready for this new console release vs. PS3/360. Those were much different to code for vs. prior consoles, whereas PS4/Xbox One are very similar to PC, so I don't think they'll run into as many issues where they cut features and whatnot.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I don't think the jump will be that big going to next gen, but I don't think we'll get the "step back" with regards to features and stuff we got when we made the last move to the new consoles.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Completely agree. EA was most responsible for that and I think they learned their lessons.Comment

Reading reviews for old sports game is hilarious. The IGN review for Madden is gold.

Yeah, most likely like the last 2 gens. Hoping he learns his lesson this time, hopping back and forth has to be a PITA. I never jumped back and forth, but I did own several 360's over the course of this gen that I would return to BBY or sometimes sell on ebay but always kept my PS3.
Not sure how much PC gaming you guys do, but I think the jump from PS3/360 to PS4/X1 will be a noticeable one. Hoping that framerates are better, jaggies are gone, etc. I play a ton on the PC and when I go back to play on my PS3, I notice a lot of the current gen graphical flaws rather easily. I think we will be in a treat with next gen cleaning things up that bugged me personally but not others.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have zero expectations for Nextgen sports games. I'll be happy with pleasantly surprised here and there. Just stating a fact. 2K football on dreamcast was a huge leap. EA responded beautifully with Madden 2001. We know those days are over.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Assuming everything goes smoothly, I may be turning my Amazon Launch Day pre order over to my friend/sales manager at work. I've known him for a long, long time and he's also an elected official (Mayor) of a City inside the County that I currently live.
All we'll have to do is change some information and payment options and it will be sent to him and charged to his card instead.
I'm going to wait another month or so to make sure things are still in motion. I would hate to turn it over to him and I break something and can't go in and I'm without a PS4. That would be worse than being gone and not being able to play one. Fighting Gamestop, Best Buy, and Wal Mart isn't an option for me.
It's either Amazon or I'm waiting.Comment

Not downplaying them, just saying that I'm not expecting something magical and amazing, more just a little better than we have currently.
Hopefully I'll be happily shocked by the new systems....just tempering my expectations I think.Last edited by mgoblue; 08-22-2013, 06:40 PM.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I will probably get the cam eventually. I have a Playstation Eye currently, but don't use it much. It is great for doing video chats through the ps3, although I have not done one in a while. The main feature I would be interested in would be with sports games and being able to have the camera take a picture of your face and input it into a game for a mode like my career in nba 2k.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Saw someone post this on Reddit about how Amazon will handle the tax in Massachusetts. They are supposed to collect tax here starting Nov 1st.
Under the terms of the agreement, we'll be required to collect sales and use taxes on items shipped to addresses in the State of Massachusetts on or after November 1, 2013.
Please note that if you placed an order prior to November 1, 2013, your Order Total may not include an estimate of Massachusetts sales taxes, but those taxes may still be charged if your order is prepared for shipment on or after that date.
In this case, since you have placed pre-order for the items, I'd suggest you to please write back to us at [email protected] if your orders are charged sales tax; and we'll issue tax refund for your orders as a one-time exception because of the circumstances.
I hope this information helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Thank you for your inquiry. Did I solve your problem?Comment
