I actually think there are more than 2 reasons. We all know the gaming industry runs in a "free market", yet we also know the power of the Dollar.

Lets take your Vizio tv for example. Imagine you take it home, unwrap it, plop it on the wall and the next you realize is all of Sony's feature movies and libraries can only be shown on Sony TVs. So what that your TV has 1080p! Rumors of others that don't may be able to pay off TV networks will only broadcast a lower defenition until further notice. Your feelings will change quite a bit. I'm not saying this is whats happening but the kettle was somewhat stirred.

I'm not sure if this makes me a fan boy or not but I was miffed and disgusted with Sony and EA for the longest time. I would chalk that behavior up to maturity yes, but I always blamed them for the kill of the Dreamcast. As you can see, the gaming industry can be cruel and we've lost lots of great possible systems, games, and producers. That in itself creates resentment. Is it a wonder why fans of XBox can't enjoy an extra 60-minutes of game play on their favorite titles like Assassins 4, or a new title like Watch Dogs? OR that PS fans have to wait a year to play EA's Titan Fall? I think they bread this new type of fanisum and hatred.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't trust either, so your (Microsoft/Sony) actions is all I can go by.

We all have our own opinion, and you are obviously entitled to yours as I am to mine. I also understand that Microsoft and Sony have created a lot of this - but I simply choose to go an alternate direction. It is incumbent on each individual as to how they act(or react) to situations that happen in life. So for me, regardless of the environment that the industry or industry leaders have created, I am the one who chooses to wallow in their created filth, or walk around the proverbial puddle next to the curb - I choose to walk around -

It's sort of like that new game smell you get when you pop the plastic on a brand new game..

I get all giddy and stuff when a brand new console or toy arrives. My parents look at me like I'm crazy but nothing beats the feeling of opening a big purchase like $500 for the first time.

This will be me on the last night before the PS4 launch.

Gamestop will have a year for $29.99 on Black Friday. If you can wait a couple weeks after the PS4 is released.

To make the wait easier, we also get a 14 day ps plus trial (or is it 7 days?) for purchasing the ps4

Just looked it up, it's a 14 day trial. It's exactly 14 days too from the launch of PS4 and Black Friday. I wish I didn't snag a year subscription a couple months ago, but at least it was on sale for $40 at the time.

Man, I hate how much plastic these companies use to tape up my games. Of course nothing beats how frustrating it is to unwrap a Microsoft accessory.

I think HellDivers (also a PS3 game, with cross-play across the PS4/PS3/PSVita) could be a fun game for small groups of people here at OS then with friends and family.

It's a top-down twin stick shooter, but hopefully it can deliver with some fun gameplay. It looks decent enough.
