Trust me. And let the system do what it does. Be patient. ..don't try unplugging a firmware update because it resets and takes longer than 10 seconds to boot back up

Reading through message boards, it seems like a fair amount of people are having issues with their consoles. Faulty HDMI ports, blue screens, start-up failures...I don't like seeing that. Is Anybody on OS have any of those problems or any issues at all? And if so where did you buy your console from?


I have my PS4 but haven't opened it yet. I have to say, I'm a little scared to now.

The only issue I've had is connecting to music unlimited!!

Well its been a great 15+ hours of having the console for myself, I logged about 12 hours. Got in about 5 hours of madden, 4 hours of NBA 2k, and 3 hours of BF4. I am so happy Madden actually plays a decent game of football without tweaking the sliders much, felt like a kid again playing NFL 2K on Dreamcast and being amazed about the game play and graphics. I love Madden football and this game may have saved the franchise. I did not expect to play Madden more than NBA 2K or BF, but I was just so happy Madden turned out to be decent and was actually having fun! NBA 2K is just a ridiculous game, absolutely amazing, and I probably should have played it more, but hey there is always tomorrow. Then there is Battlefield, what can I say....wow, amazing graphics and gameplay, but I just wasn't having fun, I was sucking on both single and multiplayer. Need a ton of practice.

Goodnight everyone, hope you had a great launch day, and I am really sorry to those who couldn't enjoy it due to Amazon screwing up, hardware problems, or just couldn't find the system in general....better days are coming, soon enough you will be able to indulge in this amazing piece of technology like myself, and the wait will be totally worth it.

The 5 month wait is finally over, Greatness is upon us and I am proud to be apart of it. Twright38 is my PSN name, send me a request and let's enjoy this generation together.

Again, this. So much.

I've been reading some of these things confused on how people are so worried over little things (that can be cured with a little patience.) I got mine at midnight, updated through the system (using wireless nonetheless), have downloaded multiple things from PSN and have played all 3 of the games I grabbed for launch with no issues.

Did some things take a little bit longer than I would have liked? Of course. Were there any major issues? Not at all.

So far, my impressions of individual games:

Battlefield 4: B+... Great multiplayer (seriously, I could see myself playing the MP for a longgggg time), but the campaign is pretty much trash. Not that big of a deal, though.

NBA 2K: A... I'm absolutely floored with this game. More than anything, I can't believe how different it feels from CG. I've already played a good bit of MyGm and MyPlayer, and I couldn't be happier with either. Both seem really well implemented. The game itself is a blast, and little things like a small amount of sliding are the only thing holding it back.

Resogun: A-... Talk about a gem of a game. Reminds me a lot of my early impressions with Geometry Wars, except a little more my style.

All of this in one day, and I've still got Madden, Killzone, AC IV, Need for Speed, and FIFA to get through over the course of the weekend. If I had to give the system a grade, it would probably be an A-. The UI is smooth as hell, the system is incredibly user friendly, and the hardware is proving stronger than I would have thought. The only thing holding it back from a perfect release is the already buggy connection to PSN. We'll see, as I'm sure it's going to improve.

Sending this brick back to Amazon and have to wait for another one. Should be fast than sending it to Sony! Oh well at least I have a XBO coming next week. This sucks!

I find it interesting that the video or link to the video of the guy talking about how he had insider information about how both sony and Microsoft had issues going into launch with their online. So far sony info seemed right as it seems they just weren't completely ready, looks like if he was right Microsoft will follow suit next Friday. I know it's posted somewhere in this thread over the last 2-4 days. Guess he wasn't talking out his *** after all.

Now in saying all this I have no doubt both companies will have it fixed very soon and no matter what console you choose I believe everybody will be happy with what is now ushered in as current gen.

So disappointed.

Can't play anything but Madden and thats too stale. Played BF for an hour yesterday, now I go to play today it was awesome and get corrupt save. Had to delete it and now I try to install and disc drive spins and makes a noise like its trying to read and then stops spinning like the bad BR drives.

PSN is buggy as hell, it feels like they released it in BETA seeing crashes all over the place in NBA and BF, could be my console though who knows.

Of course they released it in beta, they had no choice, where were they going to find 600k people with a PS4 to hammer their network like a bunch of territorial chimpazees?

Mine too! BF4 won't play anymore and sounds like it's scratching my disk . Could never start conquest .Very frustrating

How does the sleep feature work, I saw people talking about how they stopped playing the game and then turned the ps4 back on and continued where they stopped at.

My favorite feature by far is remote play, Resogun on the toilet feels so right

7+ hours in now and nothing but smooth sailing so far. I feel for the guys with HW problems, hope your issues get solved soon.
