My internet is probably about average for broadband, 25/5 with moderate (30-60) ping, and PSNow ran well.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I ranted a few pages back about how well I liked the Playstation Now service but now as I have seen and some others here have stated they added prices to the beta and I don't like it anymore.
As a "beta tester" I now have to pay to "test"? There are a few free games remaining but I would not waste my time playing those, the games that interest me more are the games that are currently streamed at a cost. It's not even that I'm mad they are charging I'm upset at the unreasonable costs.
Final FantasyXIII-2 came out in 2012....$5 for 4 hours? $30 for 90 days?? I can buy the whole game for $17 on Amazon right this minute. I'm not going to get ripped off for a beta service I was selected to try out. I don't see the point in this. Granted these prices might change but if I choose to pay for this I'm paying the right now cost not the cost that it may change to in the future.
Guacamelee.....$15 for a 90 day rental when it costs $15 to BUY the game on PS3. I don't understand.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I understand your frustration especially as a tester there is no way you should be asked to pay for a service you are testing to help the company ideally make better for the masses. I don't know whey these prices are not set as a subscription price like a netflix type one price monthly or yearly to access all the games, even a tiered pricing structure would make more sense then what they have now. I keep in mind that this may not be all Sony as they may have their hands tied with the rights from publishers. I do believe though that if enough people make their voice heard to the proper channels then this horrible price structure will change.Yankees

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Okay, so today is my birthday (these days it's really so "puh"), and I keep telling myself I don't need a PS4 right now, but really that's just me saying a few things:
--------
1) I assume when I get it, the price will be lower or combine its normal price with decent bundles (perhaps a poor assumption, but with BF coming up or waiting till next summer, I assume that could happen.
2) I am still PS3-backlogged with games that I haven't been able to play since last winter (or games I haven't even opened yet), and was afraid if I get a PS4 I wouldn't ever go back to my PS3. The only thing that really eases my mind with this so far though is that GTA V and The Last of Us are being re-mastered for PS4, so I might just jump on those if I bite the bullet.
3) I just don't see a library out there for me to invest in. Yeah, there's The Show and Watch Dogs, maybe some launch titles... but I'd honestly rather wait for the next round of sports games, and to me nothing has yet felt like a truly massive upgrade.
4) Like all hardware, they improve it over time, and I don't want to miss out on better PS4 models that might be of better service to everyone. If there is a chance one springs about in the next twelve months, I know that I will regret not owning a non-launch model.
--------
Anyway, having said all that, really my one wanted feature right now is a good working Remote Play. I have the Internet speed capabilities of maximizing its potential, but this is the feature I desire most at this point in time.
I really want people to look at this objectively... my parents are looking at getting me a birthday present, and I haven't went big with one in over five years. Would this be the right decision for me right now, given all that I listed plus my prioritization of Remote Play? And I'm being very serious about this, it's a big plunging decision that I didn't think I would be making right now, because I am still seeking what opportunity costs there might be.
I guess the only real way for me to bow out myself is if I find something that I kind of want more than a PS4, and I'm sure there is something out there that I'm not thinking of. Anyway, thanks for any input. I'm really hoping for more objective input though, rather than just: "Dude, get a PS4, you won't regret it." Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
^ That's what I'm thinking. Holding off until Black Friday would be ideal, but then again I don't know what kind of mad rush it would be to get it then. I also have to ask myself what else I would like to try and get for my birthday then, haha.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Don't think you'll see a price drop and more than likely some bundles
2) I am still PS3-backlogged with games that I haven't been able to play since last winter (or games I haven't even opened yet), and was afraid if I get a PS4 I wouldn't ever go back to my PS3. I play my PS3 as much, probably more, than my PS3. Just started RDR over again. I'm keeping my PS3 for the free PS+ stuff and will get rid of it but not until it dies. Have a lot of PS3 titles I've yet to complete or play
3) I just don't see a library out there for me to invest in. Yeah, there's The Show and Watch Dogs, maybe some launch titles... but I'd honestly rather wait for the next round of sports games, and to me nothing has yet felt like a truly massive upgrade.
Yep. While I love the PS4 and The Show (plus some freebies) there aren't a lot of titles yet that I want. That will quickly change in the next few months though.
Farcry, LBP, Madden, Alien Isolation etc.. I think there's one day I'll be walking out with 3 games that come out that day lol. So while nothing major yet at least I have the system and have it through the paces and luckily no crashes etc yet.
4) Like all hardware, they improve it over time, and I don't want to miss out on better PS4 models that might be of better service to everyone. If there is a chance one springs about in the next twelve months, I know that I will regret not owning a non-launch model.
Again IMO there's always that possibility and for me I just look at it that if I always wait for the price drop, better update etc.. I'd never buy. You're always going to have something that is improved upon. So just a matter of how long you want to hold out.

I'm close to re-buying a VITA but haven't decided yet. I did though start grabbing the free VITA titles from PS+

If I decide on an X1 it will be the wifes present to me for X-Mas.
So with that said. It doesn't seem like waiting is that big an issue for you. Hold out until you absolutely are sure you're sure (games wise etc...)
I'd still grab any PS+ freebies while they're free. (Unless of course you don't have PS+Joshua:

silly question but how do you eject the cd?Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Hit the eject button, lol. However it can be tricky as I had issues with getting it just right when I first got my system, I believe you can do it from the menu as well by hitting the options button while on the game tab and hitting eject disk.Yankees

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'm in the same boat with the X1. I have the $ but decided to use the money to pay off all the games I want this year (or a VITA also).

Basically it's now just me deciding if waiting until September-December would benefit me at all, as opposed to just owning it now.
Looking at a nice new fungo bat or HFR video camera as well, in case this does not end up being my decided purchase.
Titles that I would consider to get right now are:
- MLB 14: The Show
- Watch Dogs
- Infamous: Second Son
- KillZone: Shadow Fall
- Zen Pinball 2
- LEGO Marvel Superheroes
- Tomb Raider: Definitie Edition
And yet, I already own ZP2 and TR for PS3, and Watch Dogs would have been atop my list but I'm still not enthused by it based on all other impressions. I'm sure MLB 14 is just fine, but I really think that's not the game I need right now, and MLB 15 will be the one I want.
I'm leaning toward just getting it now anyway if I don't expect a price drop/new model anytime soon as you said, but I need to think about what to buy all the meanwhile.Last edited by Blzer; 06-21-2014, 06:41 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

My eject button just stops working on occasion. Luckily it still ejects via the Options menu. Then a simple restart of the console seems to fix it. It's weird though.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn
