I'll take it. I have free games and nice trials. They have to monetize things somehow because of programs like PS+ an and Games with Gold change buying habits and debatably devalue new games. I care more about the games though than the politics, the internet mob voting them the worst company over some truly evil ones means little when companies like Ubisoft are releasing truly broken games that had no trials and ridiculous review embargoes.
Even though Sony opted out of EA Access at least we get genuine impressions from people playing the trials.
I'm just saying. All it took was 1 money hungry company who can't even get the products they sell at full price to function properly, products they release on a yearly basis, to ruin it. And I'm sure Ubi will justifiably take that throne this year.
I get it, it's the times were in now and there's nothing any of us can do about it. And I'm not by any means trying to light the "EA is the devil" fire.
I just find it a shame we used to get many demo's for many games which would give a good idea on whether not I'd want to buy. Now I have to pay to find out if I want to pay more....huh? Not that I would, but hell I couldn't if I'd wanted to on PS. I just don't understand the need to gouge (IMO) in every way possible.
I remember getting those sample/demo discs that would have 5-10 demos on them. Fun stuff. I guess with all the preview builds they send to critics and all the gameplay that is available via video prior to release they don't see the need to spend the extra money.

I still have a PS1 demo disc that I got from Pizza Hut around here that has the warehouse from Tony Hawk 1 on it. I legitimately probably played that demo for 100 hours. At 2 minutes per run. It was insane. I was still like 8 I didn't have the money to just go get the full game.
There's also a few sets of Playstation Underground demo discs in our basement too. Ahhh Playstation Underground. I miss you.

If I was to get into that, would you recommend playing the other DA games first? I still have Origins installed but unplayed on my PC.
Not at all. I played Origins a bit, but not too much. Didn't touch DA II. I would watch this...Main reason is that Inquisition is too good to wait for.
NCAA Gamebreaker, Bushido Blade, Crash, Ralley Cross, FF7 were all on it along with a lot of other games.
Unrelated: Anyone try the Monopoly game recently added to PSN ?
I want to buy it because I'm a huge Monopoly fan. I played it for years on Games.com and Playsite.com and was even in a few leagues.
I wish there were still cool web based/java based gaming sites like that out there. Now every site that has board games wants you to download a full game or at least some sort of .exe file to play.
It's probably just a little Nostalgia, but Monopoly, Clue, Sorry, etc. were all awesome on Games.com back in the day.

Not yet, but I'll probably get it soon. The wife loves Monopoly and it's the only game we ever play together. Plus, if I buy it in Ps4 we don't have to use the wii anymore
Speaking of old Playstation demos, there was one with Parapper the Rapper, Crash Badicoot and another game where you are on a big block of cubes and you had to place a marker to explode cubes coming towards you, I think. I cant remember the name of it. Me and my cousin played that disk like it was a full game.
checking up on astro's ebay page, and they have a deal on refurbished headsets. i can get a pair of A40 for 140-ish which i think is a great deal. the mixamp alone used is like 80 bucks. i think i'm gonna do it. they also have the A50. you have to look for the ones that say 20% off.

heh this is exactly why companies don't want to do demos.
