Communities could be a nice little feature. YouTube streaming is also a solid addition. But outside of all that, this release is disappointing for me. I thought the groups feature would be nice, but it feels like nothing more than a group conversation. Stickers, really? Can only browse communities with no ability to actually search. Nothing like developing features in a vacuum for months. Two years in and they still haven't implemented a lot of what people have been asking for. But hey, we have stickers.

Now the PS4 does everything a Nintendo WiiU does, yay! (not really, it doesn't have nintendo games)

II'm really disappointed too. As it was already pointed, these features were promised before the system's launch.

We essentially got a system with an unfinished OS (like MS did to their customers with the XONE) and guess what, we're still beta-testing their firmwares, even when they call them official firmware.

It first happened to games, coming unfinished out of the box (last gen, and it still happens), now it happens to the firmwares.

Every product of this industry is a work in progress.

That's because we have systems that can be updated.
I'm sure if the older systems had that ability there would have been updates to those also.

I welcome the ability to do it.
          Same with game patches.
Most if not all old games that could have used a patch or 2.

I'm glad we have the technology to fix games we've bought and keep systems updated/upgraded.

I like the ability to update and fix the systems and games.

What i don't like at all is the way the industry relies on this ability and uses this to rush games and to sell unfinished products so consumers pay to beta test for them.

Right now, WE, the consumers, do the quality control for them, and we have to pay the price of a complete product on an unfinished one.

            That's my point.

I'm not really disappointed with the update... communities isn't quite what I hoped and I think we can expect they'll iterate on it. That just historically isn't Sony's strong point, it's a fairly safe bet will be waiting until spring or summer for that next update (maybe even w/ folders, etc). Not stuff I really use but PNG export and youtube streaming are both huge.

No, you were right the first time. Comparing the graphics of a (remastered) game that came out at the beginning of PS3's cycle versus one that came out at the end isn't fair. Which I would assume should be obvious to most people, but apparently it's not.

Has Bluetooth compatibility been confirmed or denied for PS4? I don't want Gold's or Silvers, or any other over the head headset, I'd just like to use a regular bluetooth device to communicate. I've looked far and high over the interwebz and I know Sony didn't release anything, but does anyone know of a bluetooth set that's compatible?

This. I love that we can get updates and fix bugs in the systems and games. But that's what they SHOULD be for. Fixing bugs. Look back at some of the game releases over the past year or two. We've had completely brokedick games released where entire features didn't work and have had page (and sometimes pages) long patch notes being released of dozens of fixes, far beyond simply fixing bugs.

That is the problem. Game companies rush to release games these days far, far before they should ever be considered for releasing. Since they no longer have one chance to get a game right and release it as is, this may not necessarily be the case, but they don't seem to take QA and proper testing AS seriously anymore, but rather figure they can release latches and fixes after release.

Now a lot of companies do a pretty good job at testing. But some of these games still release with issues and problems where you can't help but just sit there and think "how the hell did you miss THAT!?" But, they no longer treat games like a final release but essentially a Beta+. They no longer build and test games like this is their one and only chance to get all the problems out, they can just iron them out later in patches.

Am I happy we have patches to fix games and fix firmware. But some companies take advantage of that ability and abuse it, to the detriment of the games and us gamers.

The problem here is that what is "broken" and what is "fine" is entirely subjective. The complaints I here often about the PS4, such as wanting folders, and etc, are legitimate complaints but I do not consider the UI as "broken" when that is not in the UI.

Although I don't disagree with the overall sentiment I think my point here is that for the most part people do not consider games or systems "broken" or released "unfinished" if they work and thus the companies view them the same way.

Simply not having all the features people want does not mean the UI is "unfinished".

If a company waited until a UI had everything in it everyone wanted then it'd never release.

Again, it's subjective. I consider the PS4 system just fine the way that it is although I know others here do not. On the flip side I do NOT consider the Xbox Ones system just fine the way it is as there is still no way to stream music unsnapped and there's still no way to take pics/videos and push them straight to Facebook/YouTube/etc but I also know many people in the Xbox One community could care less about those things (as is pointed out to me repeatedly when I bring up the unsnapped music issue LOL).

So again, I see the point you guys make and at times I do echo it when a game is released with major issues for example, but I think overall, at least for Sony, they do just fine when it comes to what to release and what to upgrade.

I would like the ability to group games however I want similar to how the apps are grouped. If I could make my own folders/groupings then that would be awesome. Still, having the most recently played games within easy selection range or hopping into the library and just scrolling through is fine for me.

I did notice the PS3 got folders as all my games are now grouped by platform (PS3, PS2, PS1).

This 100%. Rumors going around that this holiday season can see several broken games at launch including AC Syndicate, Fallout 4 and more than all the others, Star Wars Battlefront.

While patches and updates are a positive, it's also a negative because of how the publishers use it. Games that need to be delayed should always be delayed in my opinion.

                                Battlefront...

Man, this game screams "rushed". C'mon, Star Wars game, without space battles? Ha!

Also, there's no single player campaign, and the game just looks and plays like a reskinned version of Battlefield.

They're rushing the game so they can release it before the movie, and i wouldn't be surprised if the singleplayer campaign and space battles would be sold as dlc.

DICE dropped the ball real hard with BF3 and 4, both games were almost unplayable for at least 2 months after release, and i see the same thing happening to Battlefront.

And if you ever need a good example of games being release as if they were a beta version, i'll just say one word: SKYRIM.
