DS4's batteries are really problematic. Even the battery on the WiiU gamepad lasts longer than DS4's battery, and it has a big screen in it.

I completely disagree with that... From MY experience.
My WiiU controller has died multiple times during play for me. That was one of the things I was critical about the WiiU lol
I've had to plug in my WiiU Pad up while playing just to get through my play session..
So for me it's night and day between the WiiU and DS4's..

Seems it's obvious people are experiencing different things.

I can't complain too much about the DS4 battery life. I mean, my XB1 controllers still require AA batteries. So, yeah.

It does seem a little dated to have a controller that requires external batteries. I thought for sure the XB1 would have utilized the USB ports. Battery packs and batteries were so annoying for me with the 360.

I only seem to burn a lot of DS4 battery if I'm using the audio jack, which I still think is one of the most underrated features of the DS4.

            Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

We have all our controllers on docks (and out of reach of children) when not in use. Only some Diablo 3 co-op sessions have resulted in a controller dying because of a play session that was too long. Any other time I have the second controller to fall back on if I forgot to plug the other DS4 back in.

Prefer removable batteries, opens up better designed 3rd party docks/solutions. Last generation the energizer docks were identical, just plug the controllers in but can be annoying if you're doing it at an angle (that's what she said) and can't get it lined up quite right (like prom night). This year they're nicer, the X1 dock is actually a cradle.

If I remember it correctly the battery in the DS4 is only 1000 mAh, which is equivalent to ~1 rechargeable AA battery, depending on the type/rating. For those interested there are 2000 mAh batteries you can snag on ebay and swap in.

Need some help, I shearched this forum first but found nothing like this.

For the last month or so when I start my ps4 it will start up then shut off.
I have to restart it 3 or 4 times before it will stay on.
Each time I restart it I get the error code saying it wasn't shut down properly.
Has anyone else heard of this? Is there a fix?

I have had this happen. Sometimes it takes forever to shut down and then I hear the beeps.

It just means that an app became unresponsive and the OS had to force termination in order to shutdown or go into stand by

I may be wrong, cause i sold my wiiu like one week after buying it, in June (thanks to Shenmue 3).

Anyway, i play near my tv/console setup, so i just let the ds4 hooked up... Just like the old times!
