The KU6500 has a 10 bit panel which is excellent but it doesn't have a wide color gamut (wcg) so that could definitely be causing you to have a lesser picture. Below is a site I used when researching 4KTV's and you can find out a lot of good info just by searching and reading. I used the below site for info from those who have the TV and I used rtings.com for reviews and more info. I have the Sony X800D if you're wondering. Site below has a topic for pretty much every 4KTV. Hope this helps.

If your tv isn't dimming that means you don't have it on game mode. When watching any HDR content your backlight needs to be maxed, smart LED set to high and color space to Native. These are recommended settings from RTINGS, AVSFORUM and CNET. You should have 2 settings, one for SDR content and one for HDR and your tv will save the settings as long as you're on standard or movie mode. Samsung has yet to release the update for picture settings to adjust while in game mode and you play in HDR. The only way to get the best out of HDR gaming or movies is by applying the settings I stated above. If you're on game mode and the game is HDR you will notice it get dim and then you have to manually change your settings for HDR content. Hopefully Samsung can release the update so you no longer have to manually change the picture settings. Also, if you're not in game mode remember that outside of game mode this tv is over 100ms of input lag. It'll be unbearable and almost unplayable for shooters and games like MLB the show.

I checked last night. My back light is maxed i play gears 4, gta, forza, 2k, NHL etc in dynamic mode and notice no input lag at all. Im sure there is some. Just not enough for me to bother with. I don't use game mode at all. I hop from hdr content to standard hd pretty frequently and don't notice much of an issue. Only time I do is watching a couple certain shows. I'll switch over to standard for them.Last edited by ricky24; 02-23-2017, 10:19 AM.Comment

Try playing MLB the show and try batting lol. You'll notice it instantly. Make sure you also put smart LED on high and color space on Native when gaming in HDR. IDK how you watch your tv in dynamic. It's so saturated and artificial looking lol..

Looks great to me. And I'd rather not switch settings daily. I'll check out your recommendations though. Any chance you can just reply to this with exactly what I should do in standard mode so it's all in one post?Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
With the next firmware supporting USB external hard drives was wondering can I still use the 500GB drive that's installed? Do I have to transfer everything over to the external? Just curious as I've never used an external before. Thanks."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I think he's thinking of like a Tivo or a DVR. When you add an external to those you can no longer use the internal hard drive. Thank goodness that's not the case on game consoles.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Ok thanks for the info. What about when there's an update for a game on the installed hard drive does it still download there? Also do firmware updates still go to the installed drive as well? Sorry for all the questions just like to know what to expect when I pick up an external at some point."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I just fired up Ghost Recon Wildlands Open beta on the PS4 Pro and the new Samsung 4K tv and wow, makes the closed beta I played on the Xbox One look like straight up garbage.
Thank goodness this game supports HDR. And I like how the first time they drop you into the game you're facing the sun and it's near blinding, LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
