I'll backup Tower of Deadly Monsters. The game is awesome and hilarious. I beat it today, but still have some trophies to find.

I know you weren't directing that to me, but I'll answer with my opinion anyway... 😀

I was big on the original FP, because it was just pure, unadulterated fun. And while I do miss the PvP modes, FPA does have a fun (funny too) story mode. And the co-op and RPG elements add to the experience, leading to some good times on the couch or online with friends.

I bought it on release for $19.99 (that's how much of a fan of the series I am), but I'd definitely recommend it at $9.99, that's a steal IMO. The PvP modes are supposedly coming (the biggest complaints the devs have seen), and they just added an arena/hoard mode that can be played solo, or in co-op.

I think it will vary by player. If you're the type to do multiple run throughs or at least explore every nook and cranny of a game's world then I think you would enjoy it.

The game functions as a movie that is being released on DVD with the director recording a commentary track for its release. The dialogue is hilarious and clever hitting on numerous movie and gaming tropes. The hero ascends a single tower (the level designs are fantastic) while going through countless sci-fi movie genres (dinosaurs, robots, space, apes, evil scientists, etc). There are items to find and collect and side objectives to complete in order to upgrade traits for health and weapons. The cleverness extends to all areas as the platforming is very well done and the combat is fun while challenging at times. The enemies change up enough to not be too overly repetitive.

Most of the impressions have said the real star is the running director commentary, but I was surprised at the gameplay and overall production of the game. It really hits on all cylinders for me and was a great surprise.

My PS4 triple beeped randomly 4 times when i was on PS Store (i wasn't downloading anything and i didn't have any other application suspended), i decided to turn it off, it still triple beeped while the console was not turned on (but still plugged). Then i pulled the power cord, waited for 5 minutes, turned it on again, and it didn't beeped nor did anything strange.



Really, either the PS4 is possessed by the glitch gremlin (see AVGN) or Sony just created a mess of a console.



If this thing breaks, i won't be able to buy another one for a long time, cause exchange rates are killing us (i would have to pay 2.000 Real for another PS4, and this is out of question)



Also, i HIGHLY recommend Retro City Rampage.



I have it on steam and on the 360 and i bought it again for the Sony consoles (cross buy).

Since some have given some good recommendations on some recently released games, The Witness is scheduled to to come out tomorrow I believe. Game is getting scores of 100 by Games Revolution, Destructoid, and We Got This Covered as well as top ratings elsewhere.

I just read a review of this on game on kotaku and it sounds fascinating. Will download ASAP. Thanks for mentioning it.
