I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Devs still have problems optimizing games between XONE/PS4/PC, imagine how it will be with another 2 different hardwares (cause you can expect a X-1.5 as well).
Just wait until Ubisoft and/or Bethesda drops their first games made with the PS4K devkit as a base.
It will be a mess, and it will be too late.
We know the ps4 has a slightly beefier gpu but is the same gpu base and the new ps4k and xb1.5 will both be around the same specs once again as it is most times. These companies do this with the intent of splitting market share and winning market share based on a slight increase in one or more popular version
Ubisoft and Bethesda can release any dev kit they want but the game will be the same for both ps4 and ps4k except if you play it on the ps4k it will perform better but the ps4 version is going to perform just as good as it would if there was no ps4k version
The ps4k and xb1.5 will be pc like in that nature.
You can play Max Payne on PC with a low rig or high end rig and is the same game but better performer for the beefier rig
this is not like xbox 360 game vs an xb1 game. It will not be emulation
It will be pc likeComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
They better have a good trade in deal...... I'm not sure when this is supposed to release but, if I didn't already have one, I'd get an Xbox One and wait for the ps4.5......this could really hurt sales for Sony right now... Also do any of you think this was the reason why Uncharted was delayed so they could get it at 4k?

Uncharted was delayed because they need to scrap the game and start from scratch.
Uncharted might get a re-release next year for a better performing PS4K but it wont be 4K.It will be say 1080p 60fps or 1440pComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yea NY is correct on this, super high end video cards in the PC market can't run 4k at considerable fps. Well it can be done but you will spend multiple thousands with multiple video cards.
The PS4K will not be able to do 4k gaming, no way in hell. Instead it will be upscaled, basically its going to be a FAKE 4k image......or to put it in simple terms, upscale = a stretched image to appear 4k.
1440 resolution at 60 FPS is still a HUGE if, I'd suspect more like 30 fps on anything over 1080p.
To give you guys an idea, you would need TWO of these to maintain anything over 30 FPS with settings near high. One of these you will be sub 20 fps range.

The PS4k will not pack enough GPU to handle native 4K gaming.Last edited by Phobia; 03-31-2016, 03:28 PM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
According to a report from The Wall Street Journal they're calling the announcement date. As others have said, there probably won't be no reason to purchase this unless you wanted to game in VR, stream/play 4K on your 4K TV, or locked 60fps for online/offline gaming.
I believe the head set will also get a future upgrade. Also the newly Sony VR Gloves project maybe introduced too.
Spoiler
The more powerful version of the PlayStation 4, currently dubbed PlayStation 4K or PlayStation 4.5, will be announced shortly before the release of PlayStation VR in October, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. The publication's sources indicate that Sony will not stop production of the original PS4 upon release of the new, more powerful version, while also noting that "it is likely" both consoles would share the same software catalogue.
Sony's goal with the console, according to those same sources, is to compete with high-end, PC-based virtual reality experiences such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, which offer a higher graphical fidelity than the current PS4. While it's possible that a more powerful PS4 will be able to increase the sharpness and graphical effects of PS VR games, the headset itself sports a mere 1920×1080 OLED display, equating to 960×1080 per eye, compared to the higher-definition 2160×1200 screens of the Rift and Vive.
For those not into interested in PS VR, the increased processing power of the new PS4 will allow it to output UHD (4K) resolution, say the WSJ's sources. However, it's not yet clear whether that will only apply to new games or whether older software will be upscaled too.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If it makes playing on a 4k tv without the input delay without having to constantly change settings back and forth I'll be all over this.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So damn stupid...PS4 games will be cross gen in the same damn gen!!! *SMH*
Why Sony would also want to match the power of the other VR headsets is beyond me simply because games don't sell nearly as much on PC as they do on consoles so what's the point in upping the power??? Personally, Sony should have waited until PS5 to release PSVR and say that PS5 would be an upgradable console like PC and go from there. Sony is simply rushing everything and in turn, screwing those who already own a current PS4. Sony is screwing over themselves in terms of sales between now and the release of PS4.5 and possibly splitting the fan base. Also, once PS4.5 gets released, the current PS4 will be worth nothing and value wise, will probably be what Wii U currently is.
I said it when Sony released PSTV, PSNow, etc., they are going to **** it all up and completely slowdown all the momentum of PS4.
Both consoles have surpassed their predecessors so why either of them would want to screw around with the current pace they're on is beyond me. Even worse, it's not even native 4K so seriously, WTF is the point? Besides ripping consumers off??? *SMH*Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
As for Sony announcing this before PSVR launches, I don't think that they can wait five months before commenting on this as it's all over the internet and majority know that it's real and going to happen. Amazing how these companies never ever learn from previous mistakes.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
lol that's where I am at. PS4.5, Xbox One.5, Nintendo NX...give me them all!
Though I would like streaming stuff like netflix in 4k (Xbox for 4k tv passthrough), I just dont like having to use the tv apps for it. They always seem clunky. Could have to do with the remote rather than a game controller?Comment

I've never used either but just from a common sense perspective it would appear as if you could make out individual pixels.Comment
