I love coming in here as 2 stories unfold:

1) We get to discuss the new PS4 Pro
2) Phobia's Playstation was hacked and we get the briefing as more info comes in.

Personally I'm fine sticking with vanilla. IMHO Sony hasn't given enough reasons to warrant an upgrade for the majority of individuals. It will be great for those getting into the console generation for the first time; however, unless we get news of a PS5 prior to the release of the Scorpio next year, I may be switching consoles.

There's a convenience level to sticking with Sony, and perhaps I'd still get a PS5 whenever that comes out (I'd guess 2019, but with the Scorpio Sony may try and push for 2018). For the time being, though, knowing the Scorpio is on the horizon and Sony is doing intermediate upgrades, I see little reason to buy a Pro, Scorpio, and then a PS5.

If you're on the VR hype train, the Pro may be almost necessary - though have they confirmed the VR system will still run on regular PS4s or whether it is Pro-only? I feel like the success of the Pro may be tied to the VR package.

I think Sony hiccuped here as the Pro really isn't offering much in my opinion, yea maybe I get better frame rate on some select games and HDR which is coming to all PS4's anyway in the firmware. I think I'm sticking with my vanilla ps4 maybe trade it in for a slim just to update the looks and cut down fan noise, no UHD player kind of kills this for me though on the Pro. Not saying it's a worthless upgrade as it is an upgrade but not at that price point for what you get IMO.

Who at Sony thought doing a reveal conference same day as Apple iPhone was a good idea too, huh? Oh well The Show still plays and looks great on my current system with my 4K tv's built in HDR+ mode so I'm happy regardless

I am almost certain the PSVR is fully functional on vanilla PS4, I just think you will get a big graphics boost with the Pro. With the one VR game they showed they said there was twice as much going on graphically or something like that.

Can't wait to test it out myself.

Vanilla PS4 better work fully with VR. I was gonna get VR but I'm not gonna spend $800 on VR and this Pro PS4

I think the way they figure it, they are only charging 100 bucks more for 228% more power. I can definitely see that, for a lot of existing PS4 users, the upgrade might not be worth it. Just depends on the the individual I guess.

When I pre-ordered my Pro at GS today the guy told me they don't expect to sell out.

What Sony failed to do today, and what they are tasked with between now and Nov 10, is showing significant improvements on 1080p displays from vanilla to Pro gameplay. I see people saying that UC4 and Last of Us remastered look way better on Pro but they need to prove it to a lot of people

Personally I would LOVE to see The Show in "Pro Mode"

So this is probably a stupid question, but I plan on buying a Slim and moving my OG PS4 upstairs. When I buy the Slim, do I just sign in with my PSN name and my library will be available to download? Do user settings carry over as well?

Man just saw the PS4 Complete Charging Station that charges 2 controllers and your ps4 headset has been cancelled by the Manufactor..

Sucks becsuse,I was really looking forward to this and had it pre ordered on gamestop.com but received an email that my order can't be processed and will be canceled because the Manufactory has canceled the product

Oh well hopefully this will reappear in the future.. good day.

Good Lord, that Pro is a ****ing tank.

It's like the PS4 developed a growth, which was then dissected and turned into the Slim.

Anyone know if the HDD in the PRO is SATA III or SATA II? I really need to know since there's not much point in buying the SSD that I want if it's not a SATA III. Thanks.
