The Samsung KS8000 55" is currently $1200 at Best Buy but was $1000 just yesterday as my friend was debating to buy it or not but decided to wait until Black Friday and while he was all hung up on the KS8000, he's going to buy the Sony X800D 43" that I have because it's basically half the price and spec/quality wise, both are pretty close to each other. I have seen rtings.com rate the Sony X800D as the best in the second tier but have also seen 4K.com rate it almost equally to the KS8000 so it all varies but the difference isn't big enough to spend the extra money especially if you don't have it.

I also went with the Sony X800D for other reasons as well. First, I prefer the stand for the Sony TV compared to the Samsung TV and second, I hate that connect one box which while rare can also burn out and it costs $200 new to replace. Third, buying the Samsung KS8000 would have required me to buy a bigger TV stand which would have increased the cost. Fourth, with Sony's Z9 TV's coming out next year and CES in January, I didn't want to go all out now since I know that there's a chance I end up getting a higher end TV next year and would then sell my Sony X800D TV.

Worse case scenario, I stay with the Sony X800D which is perfectly fine by me because games like Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 looked great on the TV and even a small indie like Ori and the Blind Forest looked great with HDR and was upscaled to 4K.

With the PS4 PRO and my TV, I can't wait. My biggest decision is which game of the following - Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and COD: IW - to play first. I'm leaning towards Titanfall 2 first, BF1 second and COD third.

If you can afford it and for the price, you can't go wrong with the Sony X800D. Just stay with the 43" because the 49" has an IPS panel which you should stay away from and it has a power brick as well.
see i have 55 now and can not go any lower and i dont want to even stay in the 55 range either.

55 and under are far less 65 and up start getting pricier and the 65 size you have to really get quality as sub par 65 isnt that that great but sub par 49 and under ARE for some reason kinda crazy

but thank you for suggesting Sony

It is a short, but amazing experience and should be a great way to break in your new Pro. You can't go wrong with any one, though. You will probably end up spending more raw hours in the other two campaigns.
Yeah, that's what I have read which as you know is perfect for me. I am leaning towards Titanfall 2 first since it has the shortest single player campaign of the three and like you said, it is an excellent experience. Battlefield 1 will most likely be second with COD third since it has a 20 or so hour campaign.

You're right. But damn, $5500 for a 65" via Best Buy is insane. Will most likely be staying with the X800D for years to come. LOL.

Ive been thinking of a sony set instead of samsung
You're welcome. And this is coming from someone who's purchased and owned four Samsung HDTV's in the last decade or so. I started with a 23" 1080P monitor back in 2009 or so. I love Samsung but the few differences just irk me to no end especially when the cost is double. Sony is excellent too but there's already an available update for the X800D in preparation for the PS4 PRO in which the update lowers the input lag.

Screen size wise, most prefer bigger but I actually prefer smaller screen sizes. Bigger is a bigger inconvenience for me as it means I have to re-arrange my living room, buy a bigger TV stand and just ugh, just too much hassle for me.

I really wish that manufacturers would start at 40" sets instead of 55". I don't have a house or a mansion and bigger screen sizes only decreases the chances of me buying that manufacturers TV sets.

The 43" is the biggest screen I have ever had as I previously had a 23" 1080P monitor, 23" 720P HDTV, 32" 1080P HDTV and a 40" 1080P HDTV. The Sony 43" 4K HDR TV is the biggest screen that I have ever had so that probably has something to do with why I prefer screens in the 40" range as opposed to 50's and 60's.

Going by rtings.com, the X800D is actually better especially for gaming and HDR than the 850 and 930 series so while those models have bigger screen sizes, they aren't exactly any better especially for gaming. Gaming is what I care about first and foremost so everything else is secondary. I barely watch movies (especially since im now single), stopped watching TV series as I hate commercials and Netflix ruined me in regards to just being able to watch episode after episode instead of on a weekly basis. NFL games are pixelated on the Sony TV if you have contrast and sharpness at 100 but if you lower both to 50, it's a lot better and more enjoyable.

Gaming wise, I have been impressed and hell, just seeing the difference with HDR on and off for the Alienation theme that I have on the base PS4 is pretty damn good so with PRO and games actually taking advantage of it all, I should hopefully continue to be more impressed.

Can't wait for Friday!!! Would say Thursday but that will be setup and download day. Friday night after work, Titanfall 2 will be popping my PS4 Pro's cherry. LMAO!!!

Yeah, I did. If a 40" or so was around $1500-$2000, I would look into it but for over $5000, hell no!!! Even if I was a millionaire, I still wouldn't spend that much money on what in the end, is simply a damn TV.

I hear you, but think about 2 things....

                  1. The parents are the ones buying and want value over anything typically

                  2. After the initial excitement of opening a brand new item (or disappointment of said used item). wears off its still better to have 50 games to play versus 2.

I know what u are saying 100% but there are a lot of budget challenged parents out there who are thinking long term over short term (their kid having a new system and 50 games means they won't have to put out any more money for a good while...)

So my point is tgat anytime you sell a bundled system like this u will not have a difficult time selling it..

I may just put up one of my PS4s with about 30 games and an extra controller myself to see what I can get towards a PS4 Pro but it depends upon my job and whether or not my contract is renewed for 2017

Parents for the most part do not shop on CL so if you put ps4 and 30 games and controller you will not get 400 because people look at things on CL differently. They see that for 400 they can get a new one with a game and have extra 100 in their pocket. Mostly people are not looking to get 30 games so your best bet is to trade that to GS and let them bend you over

Not true at all, budget minded shoppers look to CL and eBay for bargains over retail stores. I've sold every bundled system I've ever put up on Craigslist or eBay in about a week. Again, advertise during the holidays as that's the best time to sell a bundle. Stop looking at it like a buyer who wouldn't go that route and realize there a lot of others who view it alot differently (I.E. parents who want a great Christmas for their kids w limited resources)

I'm just telling you guys this to help you out, trading in a working PS4 to Gamestop for $150-$175 is just dumb IMO when you can the throw in some old games you don't play anymore and an old controller that you plan to replace anyways and get double.

All that it requires is just a slight bit more effort but it's well worth it IMO.

P.S. It also helps alot to have an extended warranty that is still in effect on your system and put that in the ad as that's usually the main concern in buying used is a defective system..
