Last I read the Pro will be held back to vanilla PS4 levels for online parity. They'll be locked to the same framerate even if the Pro could run the game better.

I really am second guessing the Pro. I know it's an upgrade (and I have the VR and a 4K TV) but really thinking I should just wait for a while and get later/ or not at all.
Maybe wait until I see what the Scorpio is all about...

Will keep thinking it over.

I do have to admit my tune is starting to change a little. It may indeed be best to just wait until I upgrade my flatscreen as well.

I officially canceled mine this morning. I love shiny new toys, but I think what really got me (even though it was a great, glowing review) was the Digital Foundry review. It's still the same OS, same look, same everything. So there won't be a "new-ness" there, especially for me without a 4K TV. Just won't reap any benefits. I know there's some updates for 1080P tv's, mostly with framerates, but even those are few and far in-between. Especially for games I own/play. Also seeing more and more reports that the system is loud, as loud as launch PS4's (where mine isn't but I know people who have jet airplanes taking off in their homes).

I'm sure it's a great system and people in this thread will be able to enjoy it at it's full potential, but for me with just a 1080P TV and a perfectly working PS4, it seems silly to blow $400 on it when there's many other things I could put that money towards. (Damn adulting LOL)

Yep. I love getting the new stuff but I think it's simply (even with a 4K tv) not a huge thing. Especially that even with a trade in, it will still be roughly 250.00.
Think I'll save the $ right now especially with the upcoming Nintendo System looming. (I have to have my Nintendo games but will "probably" wait and see on it also....maybe.... lol )

EDIT: I also have in the back of my mind just to grab a XBOX s since I gave my daughter my elite...
Yeah... lots going on in my mind.

Anyone know if the Pro supports anything in between?

I have a 3440 * 1440 ultrawide monitor. Can we use those high end settingrs or it is purely 1080p or 4K...nothing in between etc?

I know it can't be better but could it be more stable than the vanilla PS4's? Like with Battlefield 1 it's supposed to be 60FPS. Could the Pro just be a stable 60FPS where the vanilla PS4 has some dips?

Yup pretty excited for the pro. Called my Gamestop yesterday and the manager told me that they will be doing a midnight launch on Wednesday and that they will be letting people pick up their preorder at 10pm MT (12 am ET). I live in Colorado.

Actually, I question if the PS5 will ever even be out. They may just drop the branding of the numbers and call it Playstation and have revisions of it like Pro, Elite, etc. That's what I've read.

And I know I initially thought that sounded terrible but think about it, always having all your old games work, no worrying about old controllers working, etc.

Sort of the same as a PC. You buy a new/better PC but your printer, joysticks, monitors, everything still works with your new PC.
