That's the Barracuda, which is a standard drive. The Firecuda is a hybrid drive.

Will the firecuda make a big difference for the Pro?

I am thinking of getting an SSD for the PRo but not the expensive ones for 1tb as space is not super important to me. I mainly rotate 4 to 6 games and I feel a 500gb is more then enough..

I can get one with best buy credit tomorrow for 150 but feel at times I should get a headset...

I had the Samsung SSD that I sold on the vanilla PS4 and I loved the advantages in the games I mostly played...Also the dashboard was not laggy at all and scrolled quick

Darn so I just got home and looked at my amazon order of the ks8000 inch 55 inch tv that was suppose to come on sat and with a schedule deliver and now it is saying it is not going to be delivered in till Tuesday for some reason and I am not going to be home that day has I have to work.

I took delivery on the 65 KS8000 this afternoon from Amazon, and I had to refuse it. There was a half inch opening and crack on the bottom of the unit, on the other side of the bezel. What a bummer that was. Replacement scheduled for Wednesday morning.
We found it as I was telling the delivery guy about the separation some people had mentioned online...

I'm probably the wrong person to ask.

I put a 1 TB hybrid drive in my launch PS4 and felt it was a bit faster loading/installing.

The first thing I did when I got the Pro was replace the stock drive with my 1 TB hybrid, so I didn't compare the two. Supposedly with SATA III it should be faster now that it was with the launch PS4.

I went ahead and ordered the Firecuda since I'm already running low on space in the 1 TB. I'm curious to see how much (if any) faster the Firecuda is.

I have over 100 games on each of my PS4 and XB1, either purchased or downloaded using PS Plus/Games with Gold, not to mention I have a WiiU. I'd consider myself s hardcore gamer. And I want nothing to do with PC gaming. It's alot easier than ever to get into it but it's still way easier on console.

I'd drive myself nuts trying to keep up with the latest tech or trying to optimize my PC.

I thought the same for a while. Now hopefully in a month I'll be 75% or more PC only. Already ditched the XB.. PS4 probably soon after PC. Well I should say I'm keeping it but only for The Show and other exclusives.
So many titles on PC I've bought or will in the near future that I can't pass up.
Add to it the STEAM wallet breaking sales and it's more than worth it for me.
Still have to have The Show though.

I don't remember seeing this posted, but DF did a test on hard drive speeds. Results are pretty inconsistent and there's not as much difference as you'd expect. The bottleneck, like JareBear mentioned much earlier in this thread, is definitely hampering load times.

Yeah. If you're someone that plays multiple games and has any concern about space, you're best off getting a nice 2TB HDD (be it a Hybrid or even a 7200 rpm HDD).

If you only want to keep a couple games installed, a 500GB SSD is good. The SSD doesn't provide a large enough (hell, the difference in a lot of cases is negligible) bump in performance on the consoles to warrant picking a small SSD over a large HDD for those that play multiple games and don't want to deal with the install dances.

Yup I posted a few days before the PRO was released that DF stated the bandwith has not changed which is causing the SSD to not perform any better the stock ps4

This was reported by DF before testing and they even said do not get your hopes up....If it was a crazy difference some other site would have been all over it

I do not play more then a few games as I delete after I am done and a 500 SSD gives me a decent bump but not to mention the scrolling in the OS is much faster then the lag that has become stock OS on the PS4

Oh that sucks also the thing that sucks about this issue with amazon is that like 2 days after I put in a order on amazon best buy then had the tv for the same price and I could have gotten it on sat in story from them but I didn't because I had already put in the amazon order and the closet bb is about 25 minutes from me and I didn't know if I was going to want to stop by. Doing the amazon chant thing right now to see what's up.
