Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It's not really fair of me to give impressions on the Pro's graphical capabilities at this time since a) I will likely never see any benefit from 4k/HDR and b) the only game on the "optimized" list that I own is Last of Us Remastered (and it already ran at a full 60 FPS all the time due it being a remastered PS3 game). So I'll just say that I find the extra hard drive space very refreshing, and the process of transferring everything over from the old PS4 was extremely easy and done in a little over an hour via Ethernet cable. The latter should be a pretty significant selling point to anyone upgrading. All my games, saves, and settings appeared just as they did on my old system with no download required, except for a few isolated DLC cases that didn't make the trip (likely because of the rebuild error the other system suffered). Those are pretty small though, and some DLC that's very closely intertwined with its main game like Bloodborne Old Hunters (and I'm guessing Division's Underground as well) copied over just fine. The only thing I had to do afterward was de-activate my old system as my account's primary PS4, and activate it on the newer one. The last step before trade-in is to initialize the old system to delete everything (none of it can be played anymore anyway, since it's de-activated). I just need to make sure everything copied over that should have.
For me, this purchase is the definition of future-proofing (as well as making sure I get the most trade-in value out of the old PS4). I expect to start seeing the benefits of this early next year, when I initially planned for this upgrade.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah the benefits are not as much now as they will be much more apparent by next summer I think. My wife got me a PS VR for Christmas, so I will be looking to get a Pro in the spring or earlier if finances permit as I've heard it can help the VR a bit in sprucing up the graphics and clarity while you game.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I may upgrade to the Pro sometime next year but my PS4 will be just fine for now.
My thought process would probably be different if I wasn't at a point where I have very little game time. In any case that's just something I can look forward too next year lolJoshua:

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have been hearing this a lot. I don't have a pro though but I did just get my new TV and now with having a new tv I am going to have to try ratchet and clank on the new TV with HDR on to at least see what it looks like with HDR but I have also heard people say that the HDR on the normal ps4 is not has good has the HDR on the pro.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
For me personally it's not worth it right now. Mainly due to concentrating on my new PC I hope to have by Feb/March.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'll be honest I have the pro. Is it better than what I had with my PS4 slim experience? Not really. Do I have a 4K nope but still think it has some benefits

Obviously a joke. I'm hoping for a serious step up myself. They should outright develop for the ps4 pro and then roll back some graphical features to meet frame rates and performance on OG ps4.
