            Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

So after owning the PS4 Pro for a few weeks now I can safely say that if you have yet to buy a PS4 then the PS4 Pro is a clear choice. It'd be really stupid, even if you plan to never buy a 4K tv, to get a PS4 slim in my opinion. There is no reason I can think of to even consider going PS4 slim unless you are just short of money perhaps, but even then I'd probably save and wait.

With that being said, there is no major reason to upgrade right now if you have a working PS4. Even if you have a PSVR as there's not a huge difference. So take your time and save up for a collectors edition or a great sale, perhaps this spring.

However, if you have a 4K tv, then hell yes you need to upgrade like yesterday. And if you have a PSVR you should realize it will be in your best interest to start saving for 2017.

And once you do get a PS4 Pro the first game you need to play is Shadows of Mordor, OMFG...that game is awesome even on 1080P with the enhanced graphics (which is how I'm playing). I have also downloaded the newest Tomb Raider as I heard it looks awesome with the enhanced graphics for 1080p people but I haven't yet had a chance to play it since I cannot stop playing Shadows, LOL

One thing I do recommend for everyone is to get the new PS4 Dualshock 4 regardless of your system status. It's really nice, feels better (the texture is slightly diferent) and the new light on the bar is great for games that utilize the light bar.

If you aren't able to access the old system for whatever reason (broken, stolen, etc.), you can also deactivate your system from the Web once every 6 months (Account management in the Web PSN Store). Then activate the new one.

I've had 2 of each of the PS3 and the PS4, and have never had a problem with digital rights to my purchased content. It's not that complicated.

I am not talking about the prime system thing and I know how that works. I am talking about how if something is pulled and you then need to redownload it you cant. That is different then if you need to deactivate a system.

A lot of times I do agree with him but no ones opinions are 100% the same and when I do disagree with him the way he explains things is really said in a good way and in a positive attitude like you said.

Hmmm. I will be buying a PS4 later this year and I keep flip-flopping on whether to buy a Slim or Pro.

I game on XB1 now and I really have not been disappointed in the graphics, so I figure that the PS4 Slim would serve me just fine. It's cheaper, smaller, and quiet. I am also not in a rush to upgrade to a 4K TV.

On the other hand, I keep reading impressions like these and I do see the value in having the more powerful hardware.

I won't be buying until fall, so I'm sure there will be some crazy bundle deal on the Pro from Newegg and that will push me over the edge. LOL

Yeah, I tend to err on the side of more powerful hardware, just because at my age (I'm 46) I've had enough instances in my past with PCs, gaming systems, etc where I've sort of had regret and thought "why didn't I just spend a little more and get (fill in the blank)".

I can see someones point of diminishing returns in terms of there isn't a huge difference between a "regular" PS4 and the Pro but I look at it like this... there's a bit of a difference now, not huge but you can see it in games like Shadow of Mordor. It's subtle I agree.

BUT..and here's the huge but, this is so super early that to see a difference that is discernible tells me that down the road, say a year, we will all be seeing a clear difference, and those folks who went with a slim over a Pro will be really regretful that they didn't pony up the extra dough.

So yeah I'd keep my eye out for a super good deal on a Pro and wipe the thoughts of even buying a Slim from my mind. But again, that's just me, gaming companies do love folks like me who say just to spend the extra money, LOL.

That's not true though. This is no different than any other game being pulled because of license issues. They're just not allowed to sell it anymore. If you own the game, you can download it again.
