    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I only said I would add a Pro if I felt the need/want to get a new PS4 period. Considering I don't yet have a 4K TV (though a monitor is in my near future I believe), I see no reason to get one yet. I just don't game enough; not enough time in the day for me. However, if there are marked improvements in Vita Remote Play and I do get that monitor, it would be a wise decision for me to nab one. The easiest way to pull the plug is if they have the UHD BD player installed, but alas they do not.

The only real question that remains is how much longer will this console cycle last? If they are announcing a PS5 in a couple of years, I just don't see it as a validating purchase right now, especially the longer that I wait. If PS5 isn't still for another 4-5 years, then it makes buying it a little more okay for me.

I can't see enjoying a few switch accessories more than playing the show in 4k/hdr but if you are going to these lengths to talk yourself out of the pro then you are probably doing the right thing for you.

Yeah I guess if you're not going on a 4K tv and you're getting Scorpio I could see getting a slim a lot more than a Pro.

Yeah same here. Except when you are buying a console just for one game. Might as well be playing the best version of that game possible at that point.

That's a good point. Maybe wait and see it playing on a PS4 Pro at a Best Buy or a Gamestop before making a decision is what I'd recommend.

I know its been asked, and I said no need for one, but thoughts on PS4 Pro without a 4K tv? My TV is just 1080p and is about 8 years old, so I am due, but not sure when I will upgrade. Worth the purchase? I have $100 Best Buy gift card, plus my trade in, figured for $200 it might be worth it.

EDIT: Or I could have read the last page or two in this thread. Sorry.

So I added my PayPal account to my console account to pay for Psn. In the next week somebody hacks into my PayPal adds an NYC address and transfers a good amount of money into my PayPal. Planning to transfer it into a bank account shortly after I'm guessing. We caught it quick but I've heard horror stories about Sony security. Is it a bad idea to have my PayPal attached to the console?

Yeah I did the upgrade without 4k and would do it again if the cost to you isn't a lot. It's a nice little upgrade even at 1080p.

Why do you not have Two Step enabled? Do that now.

This so much. Also, Paypal has the same thing (two-factor authentication) buried in their security settings page, and assuming you have a way to authenticate (cell phone will do fine) you really should enable it on any service you can.

Yeah PayPal does have it. Gonna set it up. Looks like some scumbag guessed my wife's email password and got into the PayPal that way. Even changed her email settings to automatically put any PayPal emails in her junk folder. So we wouldn't notice money getting moved around. Real piece of work.

When you sign in and out of PSN they ask for an identification code which is sent to your cell phone. Have to type that code when logging in. Won't let you in without it if you have two-step enabled. Definitely enable this.

And I would have to do this any time I start up my PS4?

Nope, once you've signed in on a device one time you're good (that usually applies to websites that do this too). Although if you haven't already, you might want to enable your PS4 as the "Primary" PS4 tied to your account. I think the most recent PS4 firmware would have actually prompted you for this if it was needed.
