For me if they release a new console in the next year or two, that's fine by me. I'll buy it and add it to the collection.

If they don't release a new console until 5 years from now, that's fine by me as well. I'll continue to play the PS4 (PS3, PS2, PS1, Gamecube, NES, etc..) until it comes out.

I'd probably take it a step further and say I'd never own a Playstation again.

I Punted on the PS4 when the amount of time for console gaming decreased and once I cancelled PS+ it gathered dust. They have a number of spectacular titles this generation I'd love to play, and PS5 is their opportunity to let me do that. If they go the cash grab/remaster route while maintaining the same architecture I'm out of their ecosystem for good. They couldn't even get the Playstation Classic right (the lackluster selection of games run better on the SNES mini apparently), so nothing would surprise me I suppose.

Remains to be seen how they intend to innovate on their current norms, would go a long way toward changing my opinion of their ecosystem if they had an answer for Play Anywhere, Game Pass, Project Scarlett, Project Stream, EA/Origin Access, (edit: had to add forward/backward compatibility here) etc. The sad thing is many of these are concepts they just weren't able to execute in the past and maintain momentum with (cross-buy, cross-play, PS Now to some degree).

As much as I want to change mine, I'm too scared to lose save files, trophies, etc. I've read some horror stories about folks that made the change.

Same here.

I want to change mine as well, but want to read about more success stories. So far the negatives outweigh the positives from what I've read.

According to Sony, I played 680 hours last year (0 online, thus why I let my PS+ expire). Sunday was my best gaming day of the week.

My top 3 played games:
1. MLB 18 (285 hours)
2. Everybody's Golf (164 hours)
3. Madden 18 (129 hours)

I got the email. Played 18 different games. Logged 1,783 hours total and played 336 out of 365 days.

1,296 hours locally and 487 hours online.

Top 3 games:

MLB The Show 18 - 639 hours
Rocket League - 382 hours
Red Dead Redemption 2 - 255 hours

My gaming went way down compared to last year:

23 new games
1,668 hours = ~70 days

MLB the Show 18 - 113 hours
Fortnite - 103 hours
WWE 2K19 - 38 hours

13 hours consecutive in a session
179/365 days played
Wednesday was my prime day

Overall, not bad...

I have never gotten like any emails from Sony other than like ones but sales going on. I really wish there was just something in the system that shows how many hours you have played ever game you have just like the switch has. There was something that came out over a month ago in the UK that like makes a video and shows like game time stats called PlayStation life but it never came out hear in the USA and I saw something about something kind of like that but different in the USA yesterday but it didn't work and I cant find info about it now to try it again.

Did you get this e-mail last year as well? Or do you just know off-hand that you haven't gamed nearly as much?

I haven't gotten an e-mail yet, not in spam either. I know sometimes they come out in droves, but in case I don't get one is there any way that I should consider contacting them about it?

I mean I get no problem getting their e-mails that ask me to sign up for their credit card or whatever.
