WB Montreal/WB Games has been teasing it since I think September. There's also been plenty of leaks with a lot of details. I'm hoping it gets revealed at TGA. If not, then I simply can't understand why they keep teasing the game.

What are your guys thoughts on getting a new ps4 pro? I've had the original since launch. With the new system probably only a year out, does the update even make sense at this point?

I questioned it when I got it three years ago or whenever it was, fearing the next system was going to arrive soon. I thought any later, and that would be a waste of an investment.

I personally feel it's too late and that you should just wait on/until the PS5, unless there are still some Black Friday bundle/discount pulls with titles that you are going to play.

EDIT: That being said, I fully stand by and endorse the PS4, and think it is a wonderful and robust piece of equipment. The visual jumps (especially in framerate for many games) we well worth that I had spent for it at the time.

I would say wait even if you get the pro for like 300 around holiday season right now that is still 300 that you could be putting towards the ps5 and also if you go from ps4 and having never played in 4k to ps5 and 4k you are going to be more blown away then if you go from ps4 pro and some 4k to ps5 and 4k. At the same time if you get pro for 300 and are able to trade in normal ps4 for like 100 then that makes it more like 200, and then you could trade in ps4 pro when ps5 comes out. If you do that you might be looking at only paying like 50 more over all then if you just waited for ps5 and didn't trade in any thing.

Sony appears to be rolling with the traditional generational approach, just a rumor for now, but PS5 first party releases may be exclusive to the PS5.

How is that really different then before or news? Of course there will be some games on ps5 that are only ps5. That is no different then when ps4 came out and it had some games that were only ps4 or any other gens before.

Yup, I'm not really that up in arms nor am I shocked. I kind of prefer it, actually. No reason for them to resort time for "downgrades."

I wonder if this applies to a game like The Show '21, though. But again, I actually wouldn't be all that upset. Maybe that would be telling of them trying to play with a new engine, rather than just feature parity or whatever the hell they always say.

                      Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I'm expecting Ghost of Tsushima and TLOUP2 online multi-player to both be cross-gen launch titles for PS5. MLB The Show would also be cross-gen for a few years but that's expected as there are those who only play sports games throughout the year and thus, probably wouldn't buy a PS5 right away.

Other than the first two mentioned titles, im expecting PS5 titles to be PS5 exclusive which is what I want. I am a firm believer in console generations and prefer it to stay this way. Besides, if you're getting Ray Tracing, better HDR, far better CPU, more RAM, stronger GPU, etc., why would anyone want the games to be "downgraded" just so they can "run" on PS4? Nah, no thanks.

For Ghost of Tsushima, it makes sense as it's been in development for several years for PS4 as opposed to being built for PS5 from the ground up.

The difference is we have no vision from Sony, they've replicated what MS is doing in some ways, and in this respect they're diverging. There's little reason you can't have both, but it appears they're going with exclusivity to push hardware rather than accessibility and more options for us as gamers.

Yeah peter420 i agree with all you just said and i think Horizon zero dawn 2 will be a launch game and i think we will get a launch ratchet and clank game. Then late 2021 i think we will get spiderman 2 on ps5. Insomanic are a big developer and have 2 teams. I think one team is working on ratchet and clank for ps5 launch, and its been around 3 and a half years sense the last ratchet game already. The other team i think is working on spiderman. If we get those 2 games + Horizon zero dawn 2 all around the first full year that would be a amazing start for ps5 already with out including what ever elese we get.

Agree, big franchises for a big launch (with so much still to be announced). I'm still anxious to play the original Spider-Man myself.

I don't see Horizon Zero Dawn 2 being a PS5 launch title. Just too soon and I don't want them rushing the game. I want more robots, more side quests, longer main story quest line, more melee combat moves and just overall, a better game. With that said, I am expecting a reveal trailer at Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal or at their E3 2020 showcase but not expecting a release date or release year for it.

Also, if Ghost of Tsushima ends up being a cross-gen launch title, then this will be their major AAA exclusive that they build around because it's a new IP and set up to be a franchise. Releasing Horizon 2 with it will hurt each other's sales and Ghost of Tsushima is going to elevate Sucker Punch like Horizon did for Guerrilla, God of War did for Santa Monica and Days Gone did for Bend Studio. You add in Spider Man for Insomniac and yeah, they are in prime position.

I agree 100% with Ratchet and Clank 2 being a PlayStation 5 launch title as it would be 4 1/2 years since the first game was released. Like you said, they have multiple teams, three actually. One for Spider Man, one for R&C and a smaller team for VR as they just released Stormland for Rift a few weeks ago.

We'll see though. I do prefer their top tier titles spread out and except for when PS5 launches, I prefer Sony staying away from the October/November/December release window because I want their franchises to do well and when you release them in February/Spring/September at the latest, you have a far better chance at succeeding.

I think getting Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon 2 and Spider Man 2 in a span of a year or less is wishful thinking though but we'll see.

Tuesday's State of Play which should show a new Ghost of Tsushima trailer will be telling due to there being a release date/window after it.

I don't think Horizon zero dawn 2 at launch is to soon or a rush game at all. The first game came out early 2017 and so by the time ps5 comes out it will have been like around 3 and a half years. I could also see it being a early 2021 game though around 4 years after the first one.

So i could see something like this. Ghost of Tsushima September on ps4 and then it gets a patch for ps5 so you can play it in full 4k a few months later when ps5 comes out or maybe it comes out same time has ps5 and ps4 version is 1080p and ps5 patch makes it 4k. Then i could see ratchet and clank at launch, Feb/March 2021 Horizon Zero dawn 2, September 2021 spiderman.

I think in early 2020 when ps5 is shown that we will get something shown for Horizon zero dawn 2 even if its just a small teaser. During e3 i think we will get a spiderman 2 trailer. If spiderman 2 were to come out in say november 2021 it would be about 3 years and 2 months old. If Horizon zero dawn to comes out at launch of ps5 it will already be 3 years and 7-8 months. So i dont really see how Horizon zero dawn 2 at launch is to soon if late 2021 for spiderman 2 is not to soon when Horizon will have had more time then spiderman if those things were to happen.

You do make a good point about Ghost and Horizon coming out at the same time though but i also think Horizon zero dawn 2 is a much bigger sale because of the fact it is a ps5 only game. I don't considered cross gen games to be much of a reason to get a new consoles. But yeah because of Ghost i could see Horizon being a early 2021 game instead of launch 2020 to give Ghost like 5 months or so by its self so to speak.

If we get Horizon or ratchet and clank at launch i am day 1. If we get neither i may wait would depend on if there is like any big surprised exclusive that looks amazing or not, and like what early 2021 might look like. I got a switch on day 1 and it had BOTW sure but so did wii u but it was the fact that Splatoon was only like 3-4 months after launch that made me go ok i will get it day 1. Ghost looks amazing but i may just get it on ps4 and wait for ps5 if Horizon or ratchet and clank is not at launch or close to it
