According to their customer service, they put a hold on your account for that amount. So you're sort of charged, I guess.

It's like Microsoft decided to try to make every mistake Sony made last gen (current gen?), and added a little more fail on top for good measure. It's too early to say what's going to happen, but MS has already given up their entire lead they spent the last 8 years building, and is now starting at a self-inflicted disadvantage for next gen. Who is running things in Redmond? How did they not see this coming a million miles away? It's possible their vision extends out further than what is obvious right now, but it won't matter if no one owns their system by the time their plan comes to fruition.

I just cancelled my order...going to go with GameStop, as they will apparently charge when they ship.

I know everyone wants to dump on Microsoft and the XBox One now, but really it will be a strong console as well. Who knows how the DRM stuff will play out... it's conceivable that they could decide to dump it altogether if it becomes a disaster for them.

I'd love to have both consoles right off the bat, but that is a large sum of money to shell out.

Yep. And you actually just pointed out the hole MS just put themselves in, because most people either don't have the cash or the time or the will to buy 2 consoles, so whichever one they buy first will be the one they go with this gen. So the key is to give people a reason to buy your box first, and Sony just gave everyone a host of compelling reasons to go with their shiny black box over MS's...

Pretty good presentation. A bit long with the talking in between.

No sign of Kratos or Sackboy. Some heavy emphasis on new IP's, which obviously is a good thing. I wanted to see a live demo of the Vita with remote play.

They sure made me laugh a lot at the end though. Going to get this, but not immediately. I'm thinking Summer 2014 or later.

I'm sure the Xbox will be a quality system if you don't' mind the internet connection and DRM thing.

Living in FL I can't risk the whole internet thing, if a Hurricane hits I want to be able to play when the power comes up not when the internet comes up a few days after that. Plus being in a college setting my roommates and I trade games around all the time

Anyone else surprised that they are keeping the games at $59.99?

I was expecting the games to jump to $69.99 and then have the PS3/Xbox360 games drop to 49.99 next year.

Wow, Playstation really came through on all counts when it comes to price.

I have always been a Xbox/Microsoft fanboy, but I am actually on the fence, legitimately torn on which direction to go with the next gen.

                                Sigh.
