    Re: E3 Discussion Thread

I don't know what you've been doing with your playstations but I've had them all as well and never once had an issue with any of them.

Had one issue with the 360 but not enough to make me say I would never get another Microsoft product again.

I'd have to be an idiot to buy anything from Sony again.
Won't get the XBO unless they drop the bs.
Wii U I'd get if it had more than 2 games I was intrested in.
      So just PC for now.

        Console ownership lists? OK
        Intellivision
        Atari 2600
        NES
        SNES
        Genesis
        TG 16
        PS1
        Japanese and american Dream casts
        PS2
        X360 x4 (all failed quickly)
        PS 3

I was already iffy with MSFT products due to my issues with 360s but their policies this upcoming gen combined with Sony's choices made it easy on me this time. Plus I've always liked Sony's exclusives more.

Definitely, it is odd that the 360 and XBox One and the PS3 and PS4 will be so close in price.

Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but I thought the PS2 and XBox were selling for around $150-$200 when the current gen systems dropped. Could be way off on that.

Yeah, as long as they are still selling, and they are able to actually profit on them and recoup the losses, they will.

They will drop around the time the PS4 and XBox1 hit.

Really wanted Neo Geo back then but parents would not pay for the cartridges.

                    Re: E3 Discussion Thread

I was just about to do a search to see if their was a console history thread.

                    Mine:

My parents got me an Atari 2600 as a kid. I think it's still somewhere at their house.

Then I bought a Sega Genesis. Had it for several years before buying a Sega Saturn. I sold the Genesis to a friend to get cash for the Saturn.

I had the Saturn for about a year and grew frustrated with the lack of sports games, so I traded it in toward a PlayStation. Had the PS1 for about five years before trading it in toward a PS2.

After several years on the PS2, I stupidly traded it in toward an Xbox. Nothing against the Xbox, but there was no reason for me to turn away from the PS2. Dumb dumb dumb.

Traded in the Xbox for an Xbox 360 at the start of this gen. I had the 360 for a year. I loved it, but The Show brought me back to the PS side. Traded in the 360 for a PS3 in 2007 right before The Show released.

At this point, I really have no interest in an Xbox One. I'll be going PS4 next gen for sure.

                      Re: E3 Discussion Thread

I'm not trying to turn this into a console war, but I am very surprised seeing a few people saying they are going with the Xbox One especially on launch date. Sorry if I am dropping 500 dollars I don't want to be forced to not only pay for Xbox Live, but internet service as well. Sure I have internet, but there are a lot of times I have ended up staying at hotels for weeks and months at a time. So now I'd be forced to have to get hotel with crappy wi-fi just to play games that I already paid for. Just doesn't seem right to pay 500 dollars for a gaming system that also has to be connected to the internet every 24 hours. The times when you move and have those days of waiting for internet service you are also waiting to be able to play games you already paid for, it's sad. Personally just upsets me that people are going to be supporting business practices such as that. If it wasn't for the always online restrictions I would definitely get Xbox One at launch just like I am getting PS4 at launch. Xbox One has exclusives and features that really appeal to me. Just that one HUGE issue IMO. It's big enough issue to keep me away from it. At least for awhile.

It's called a use case. People with dentures don't think it's sad that others have to buy toothpaste because they're burdened with real teeth. Some things just aren't for you.

It's really sad to me. I really wanted both consoles to be honest it's just that one issue. I am an internet guy I feel lifeless without it. I love having my beautiful Fios 50/25. Problem is I always move around a lot so that internet thing is an issue. Unless I will be able to tether internet through my phone on the Xbox One then we might be talking. If that is possible then Xbox One and PS4 it is for me.

There's no reason tethering wouldn't work, data charges aside.

Yeah that is true, but Microsoft has made a pretty restrictive system so who knows? I have unlimited data but of course we know after a certain point they cap your speeds. Oh well I forgot about tethering and now my wallet might be really small come November... lol...
