Once play/pause works, you can use your control, voice, or an IR remote to play/pause/ff/rw TV content on your DVR. Even without deep DVR integration, I do find it useful at home.
Didn't have time last night, but hopefully tonight!

Just an FYI. You don't need to run your cable through the Xbox one to use the voice commands to change the channels etc.. I set up my Xbox for my cable box but I don't run the cable through it. (I don't want my Xbox on every time I watch TV.) However, if my Xbox is on, the I can still voice change the channels.

I may eventually set it up the correct way but right now it was cool to try it out.

Pretty cool. The splitter has worked great for me, so I can use the cable box without the Xbox One when I want.

Play/pause seemed to work after changing my STB to comcast in settings and going through until the channel changed.

Thanks a lot! I'll try ff/rw later, but that shouldn't be a problem now. Play/pause are perfect for watching recorded stuff and I want to get up to run to the kitchen.

With the announcement of updates coming I really hope there are some "unannounced" improvements on the TV side (option to boot directly to TV, PQ improvements)...

When the update comes out and/or we officially announce what changes came out, I'll let you know what's being changed. I just don't want to be the first one to announce something before the update is released.

I honestly have no clue, but I really doubt it.

However, the limited upside isn't worth the moderate downside.

Yeah, the game was a mess. Here's how I've described it to others:
If the Broncos and Seahawks played 100 times, maybe Seattle wins 70 of them. However, what you saw on Sunday was literally the worst-case simulation of those 70 losses. It wasn't even quite a football game. I was disappointed as a fan of the sport.

I was quite drunk and by halftime couldn't stay wake...after the Harvin return I said to heck with it and went to bed. On the upside I woke up hangover free on Monday!

                          SB,

Is there a way to stretch Standard Definition channels to fit the entire screen? I have my Verizon STB set to automatically stretch it but when I turn to SB channels but the Xbox overrides that. When I turn to SD channels there are bars on the left and right side of the screen.

Yep. While watching TV, hit the Menu button (aka start) on the controller. Go down to the 3rd option and change it from Native to Stretch or Zoom.

A lot of times I will switch back to TV from a different input and the screen will show a picture of my Xbox and say my TV signal was lost. Sometimes the channel comes on pretty quickly afterward, sometimes I have to say Xbox watch TV a couple times, sometimes I say Xbox watch ESPN and it will turn the picture back on. Just wondered if there was a reason it was losing my TV signal almost everytime I switch over from another input. I have my Direct TV genie hooked up to the Xbox. It is just an annoyance but if there was something I could do to keep it from losing the signal, that would be great.

It's likely due to HDCP. That has to be negotiated along the entire HDMI pipeline, from the STB, through Xbox and/or AVR and to the TV. Some TVs treat an input switch away from a device the same as being turned off (only asserting 5V to the active input). When that happens, HDCP is disabled, and when you switch back we need to re-negotiate.

Over time, we'll continue to work on our HDMI drivers and try to speed up this process. You'd likely see the same thing if you turned your TV off while leaving Live TV playing through the Xbox One.
