Changing channel works, so I can say "Xbox Watch Fox" and it'll type in the numbers to change to the Fox HD channel.

I've just been wondering about the pause aspect, that seems to be off.
Thanks, sounds like we may have a functional IR codeset, but not the optimal one. Get me your provider, make, and model info and I'll provide some suggestions.

Studbucket, has MS considered adding a tutorial or video explaining how to use the Kinect,or specifically TV on the Xbox One, in a future update?

Techies like me are not in need of it but I think it'd be a great thing for the moms and kids who are out there trying to learn the system...

I think we need to make many features, whether it's Kinect or controller shortcuts, more apparent to users. For instance, snap is great, but many people don't use it.

I have ideas for how we can do that on the TV side, and I think I can make it happen, but I don't know the timeframe. I can't comment on general shell navigation via voice, as I'm a bit removed from that area.

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?

Hopefully this is the right thread to ask this question. I have an Xboxone with Directv. Yesterday for whatever reason, my directv picture freezes when connected with Hdmi to the xboxone. I recently decided to disconnect the directv from the xboxone and everything is fine. Tried again this morning and it was the same situation, so right now my directv isn't connected to the xboxone.

Can anyone provide any feedback as to perhaps what is going on and if there is a solution to fix this? Really like the tv integration feature etc. Thanks!

What do you mean by freezes? How long does it last?

And do you keep your XOne in standby or power it down completely? If you keep it in standby try rebooting from a full power down.

Cox Cable in AZ, Cisco Explorer 8642HDC

It's a DVR. We have a similar box in the bedroom but that doesn't have the hard drive, so it just connects over the cable network to the main box. It's how they do "Whole Home DVR"

              Thanks!

Basically I'll say XboxOn, everything is fine, then out of no where while watching lets say something on ESPN, the picture will freeze for 20 seconds, then come back and is fine for one minute, then it will freeze for longer, then repeat.

I have the Xboxone connected to my TV and DirecTV, so when shutting off, I say Xbox Turn OFF and then everything shuts off. Tried turning it off and on and the same thing occurs. As I said, the temporary fix is just to remove the DirecTV from the Xboxone and everything works fine, just miss the features.

Hopefully this helps delineate my situation further.

Have you tried a full reboot of the Xbox? Is your DirecTV box set to native or a specific resolution? Is the Xbox set to "hdmi" instead of "auto" in video settings?

I have same setup and it's working fine so trying to compare to how mine is set up.

Have you called customer service? That sounds like a hardware issue.

This sounds like an issue with Surround Sound. However, let's try a few steps:
                      1) With the Xbox One on, do a hard power cycle of the STB by pulling its power cord.
                      2) Hard reboot the Xbox One by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.
                      3) Go into your STB settings and change audio from Dolby/Surround to Stereo PCM. Ensure the setting in TV & OneGuide settings -> Troubleshooting -> "Surround Sound (Beta)" is unchecked
                      4) If #3 solves the issue. You can try to re-enable surround sound in the troubleshooting menu and on your STB to see if that works OK. If not, going without surround sound is your best bet for now.
                      4)

OK, let's try a few things:
                      1) Go through device detection with make=Comcast. I know it's crazy, but see how it does for you.
                      2) Go to troubleshooting and try manually entering the following codesets for your STB:
                      1877
                      0877
                      2047

I actually think it's a software issue, one of our bugs, but I could be wrong. Certain classes of issues are hard to diagnose without getting logs from the console. The best way to test this is to plug in other HDMI sources. Do you have a 360, a PS3, a PC? Something else that can be plugged in? How does that do?

I'll check this out whenever i have time next, hopefully tonight unless the wife's all ready taken over the tv lol.

Thanks a lot for your help, I like the TV stuff without play/pause, but that would be pretty awesome to have.

IMO it all makes the Xbox One better...it may not be quite as fast, but I think the devs will figure that out over time....

Happy to help, and I can't wait until we get to finish the features we're planning now and ship them to you guys.

Once play/pause works, you can use your control, voice, or an IR remote to play/pause/ff/rw TV content on your DVR. Even without deep DVR integration, I do find it useful at home.
