That's currently not available. That would be sweet though, right? I bet this could come with an app someday, maybe from NBA, ESPN, NFL, etc.

Saw it suggested on another forum that adding a channel to favorites can help prioritize it if a misheard or conflicting command is given, that accurate at all? Example was Science Channel going to SyFy. I've had issues going to Disney Jr... tends go to Disney or ESPN2.

Weird, my game always darkens and pauses when I snap to TV. Am I doing something wrong?

        Thank you for your help.

So. Can you use your hd pvr box after everything is connected?? Can I still use my regular remote to change channels and view my regular guide ?? Or must everything be done thru the xbox?

What about recording tv shows? Is this now done thru the box as well?

For me Xbox on is a problem at times, others seem to work fine. Would be nice to say Xbox watch Channel "#" cause saying Team8HD and a few others don't seem to work. Maybe this is being picky cause I'm loving it.

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?

For locals you can sometimes say "watch CBS" though some of those commands on directv tune to the distant network version in the 390s.

Testing now in Vegas (henderson, 89052)

              Watch nbc: ch 3
              Watch fox: ch 399
              Watch cbs: ch 391
              Watch abc: ch 13
              Watch pbs: ch 10
              Watch cw: ch 33

Saying watch klas is difficult to get through to Kinect when you have a klvx.

You can still use your regular remote. The Xbox will not control the recording functions, you'll have to use your regular remote for that (at least for DirecTV.) When you are watching your recordings, Xbox can control pause, play, fastforward and rewind.

I think it's like when you hit the Nexus button on the 360, where we darkened and paused the game, since we knew you weren't playing. If you double-tap Nexus or "Xbox Switch" you can go back to your game.

Yeah, given that it's only using local Kinect processing it seems to be a bit more finicky. However I found that doing the following works well:
[Firmly at the Kinect] "Xbox" [pause 1 second] "On"

Your other question was answered well - no number commands right now.

                    Stud,

                    Weird one here:

My setup: I have my XB1 connected to the STB via the HDMI to take advantage of Live TV. I also have component cables running from the STB to a TV input.

Issue: On Sunday Night I started off watching the SNF game sitting directly in front of the TV & Kinect on our "L" shaped couch but not the actual "L" part. After a little while I moved to the "L" shape part to go to sleep. At some point (I dozed off) my TV screen went black while I watching the game on the TV input connected by the component cables BUT I could hear the sound. I thought perhaps one of the components came loose so I checked and saw that they were all firmly in-place. I turned the power off on the TV & then the STB to no avail. Finally I turned the XB1 on and the picture came back. Now, when I turned the SNF game on my XB1 was on but at some point I turned it off during the game but before I dozed off.

I thought that perhaps the XB1 didn't see anyone in its field of vision and thought that it should go into standby mode but then again this shouldn't matter since the picture & audio were being transmitted via cable components directly from the STB to the TV input AND the XB1 was turned off.

I'm going to try this again tonight to see if it happens and if it does happen, buy an HDMI splitter.

                    Any thoughts?

Very strange. Here's my hypothesis, which could be completely wrong. Can you get it to repro consistently?

The STB times out/turns off after X amount of HDMI inactivity. The STB has no way to tell if something is connected over component, and perhaps when HDMI is connected, it assumes that is what is used. So, when you turned the Xbox Off, the STB assumed that nobody was watching and started its timer.

However, that doesn't explain why it came back when you turned the Xbox On...

So maybe it was an HDCP thing and the STB wouldn't display a signal until it could renegotiate the connection.

Anyway, I really don't know for sure, it's quite strange.

No promises, but it's certainly on our radar. We'll need to see if we can get the experience right and how it compares to other work we want to do.

Ok. So worst case scenario, you don't have to use any voice commands or anything to watch tv. You can just pick up your remote and watch tv like you always did.
