OK. question 1: do yo want the Xbox to also turn off your devices?

2nd, I believe you are suffering from a small bug where a sub-optimal codeset is chosen for your Samsung TV. Can you go to TV & OneGuide settings -> Troubleshooting -> Enter a codeset and change your TV codeset to T2051?

        Ordered remote on Amazon .

Will One control a soundbar too if I get one? Where would I put Kinect if I do?

Yep, it controls sound bars; I have a Panasonic one in my office.

For voice-recognition purposes, it's not recommended to have the Kinect directly in front of the sound bar. For IR blasting purposes, just make sure the Kinect gets line of sight (which shouldn't be too hard).

Ok you got me studbucket, mines ordered off Amazon, hope I get it Friday.

How will I program it to use my sound system or do I not have to since my Xbox One can already control my sound system?

You mean the Media Remote? It is just another interface for the Xbox One, so if you have the Xbox set up to control your sound system, you're in good shape

                    Hey Studbucket!

I got a soundbar from Costco. It's a Samsung HW-FM45C. I believe this is the same as the HWF-450, just a different model number for costco.

When I find this through the devices for a reciever in Xbox One settings I'm able to find "HWF450" which should work, but it just spins the circle for a minute after picking that and then takes me back to the home page (no error message), and when I go back to devices it says "Samsung not set" for the reciever.

Any thoughts? Would be cool to have the One just turn it on and off as needed, as well as using the remote/kinect/controller for mute and volume control.

                    Thanks!

Is there anyway to just use the ir blaster to raise and lower the volume on my tv. And not hook cable or anything up to it? I have gone cableless recently, dont watch enough tv to justify the bill and any other show I want to watch I can find on netflix or hulu or something.

Maybe go to Settings/TV-One Guide and look at devices. Can you add a TV? then it'd just use TV controls (turn tv on/off, volume, though you don't have to have it turn on/off). Not sure exactly because I have the full setup, but worth a shot.

Just saw that this update coming today has easy soundbar support. Will that fix my issue and let the One do power, volume?

Got the update this morning and selected the same values and it worked this time. Guess that fixed it.

At least volume up/down worked. Didn't turn system on/off since I had to leave for work.

Looking forward to the Media Remote getting in Friday! I may start using One Guide more exclusively to change channels. Does that have a "page up" and "Page down" type functionality so we can scroll through more than just up/down by channel?

Try again. This was a bug we just hit today and worked with people to understand the route cause and get it fixed. Turns out it was a small change in the web service. We had the team revert the fix and then flush the cache, so you should be good to go.

Everything's just magnified now because my mother-in-law is staying with us for a month to help with the baby lol. The media remote will help her out too!
