I think it's pretty consistent, I'll do some testing and get back to you.

Mendota, depending where you're at in your contract, I'd give them a call and ask "what they can do for you before considering other providers" due to your problem, and that you're considering a Genie but the $300 is what has you maybe looking elsewhere.

Somewhat of a white lie, but if it's just the $300 that's stopping you they can probably help you out.

I've considered switching to the Genie, as I have friend with that STB who has no problems. But that is a $300 fix (although five channel recording and a 1 TB hard drive are good features, too).

      Any ideas?
Yeah, you shouldn't have to switch to the Genie just to fix this, unless you wanted to take advantage of some of the Genie's features.

I have the DirecTiVo (THR22-100) outside of my office and played with it several times a week, never having any issues, so we should be able to get you to a good state. Can you try a few things?
      1) With the Xbox One on, hard power cycle the DirecTiVo by pulling the power cord
      2) Turn off Dolby/surround sound on the DirecTiVo
      3) Explicitly set your TiVo to 720p or 1080i, with no SD override

        Thanks.

I will try this, but the wife is playing Peggle 2 right now.

        1) I have not hard powered the Tivo, so I will definitely try this.

        2) I have Dolby Digital on right now because I can't seem to get the Tivo to send 5.1 sound without it. Should this be an issue?

        3) This is something I have done. I screwed it up a few times by testing it, which proceeds to turn all of the modes.

        Thanks for your help!

For #2, go to TV & OneGuide settings -> Troubleshooting and turn on "Surround Sound (Beta)", does that fix things? You need to make sure that the surround sound settings are matched up, otherwise you can get some video issues due to the Beta nature of surround sound support. Stereo PCM is still your best bet, but if you can get Surround Sound working, go for it.

#1 may fix most of the issues though.

I can't believe I missed this thread....just a note to all, if your tv app crashes it's likely your best bet is to reset to factory default instead of trying to fix it. If you want more info let me know..

But only do that if a hard reboot (press+hold power button) doesn't fix it

For most people, the above will do it.

Everytime I leave the TV app and then Resume TV, my DVR is paused.. I unpause and I'm without sound for 20-30 seconds before goes back to normal.. It doesn't bother me, but I always thought it was odd since my receiver never does this when its not connected to the XB1..

Strange. What's the make and model of your DVR?

So I gave all of this a work out this morning, and came away pretty much empty handed. What I nailed down ,though, is that Dolby is the issue. I can run with Instant On just fine with it turned off on the Tivo. But I cannot get any surround working without it.

I tried 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby in the Sound Settins for HDMI. I turned optical sound off. I have beta surround on in the troubleshooting menu of the TV/One Guide.

If I run under Energy Saving, I still only get surround if I have Dolby turned on.

Hard power cycling the Tivo had no effect on anything, unfortunately.

Why can't DirecTV users use the ESPN3 app? Microsoft has a deal with DirecTV as the official provider for TV don't they? Plus the NFL deal is through them as well.

Likely completely unrelated divisions. A lot of quirks like that out there, for example can't use HBOGo with directv on a Roku but can on other devices.

I'm pretty sure ESPN3 is inly available through ISP's that make deals with ESPN. My current and previous ISPs, Charter and AT&T both made it available. It is an internet service, not TV.

But I'm frustrated that I DirecTV does not have a deal for ESPN Watch Anywhere. All I can watch is ESPN3 on the net.

I'm frustrated too, I'm using my sisters time Warner login as a way around it for now.

Is Dish one of the partners for WatchESPN?

Doesn't look like it. They've been in a long running dispute with Disney so wouldn't have expected it anyways.
