Ok I give up...how do you change the increments in which Xbox one does volume up and down??

    NEVERMIND - found it:

This is covered in the preview forums but for those interested in changing the volume increment, it's not in an obvious spot. Go here:

    Settings
    TV & OneGuide
    Troubleshooting
    Audio Volume Change
Personally, I set mine to 10 because my Yamaha receiver works in 0.5 increments. Good luck!

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask and hadn't looked up the preview forums since joining. Bad tester.

I had looked around... would have never looked in Troubleshooting though.

Yep, not a great spot. Our original settings design wasn't very scalable. We're looking at how we can clean things up and expose things better.

Here are some far from comprehensive release notes for the update that just went out.

          • AVR device detection added, so you no longer need to enter model numbers
          • You can no longer IR blast from the Xbox One to the Xbox One
          • You can control the amount the volume goes up and down via voice
          • Added a confirmation for when you reset TV settings
          • You can now remove individual devices without resetting all TV settings
          • All regions can now configure TVs and AVRs for volume & power control
          • Various fixes for IR remotes: discrete power commands work better, it works better in various apps, the OneGuide button now works, and channel up and down is faster.
          • You can use IR remotes to enter your passkey for parental controls

            Hey Stud,

With the new update, does it make a different sound-wise if I plug my soundbar into my TV or my Xbox? Or is the only real difference just being able to control the volume and stuff with my remote.

Similar question. Is there a difference between optical from Xbox one to soundbar vs. Hdmi passthrough?

                So, a few things.
                • Theoretically there's no difference
                • However, it depends how the TV handles things
                • You can connect it via optical off of Xbox One, or inline HDMI off of Xbox One
                • You can also do optical off of TV or HDMI off of TV, if one of your TV inputs supports ARC (Audio Return Channel)

I can't tell you exactly what works best for your situation, but all of those *should* work.

I don't want to output from the TV optical, that only comes in stereo.

I'll probably just leave it as it is, but thanks!

Hoping the Media Remote ships from Amazon soon, no idea when they're sending it. Just put up my Kinect TV mount and that's working well, I think it gives Kinect a better view now too.

                    Oh, studbucket, you'll love this!

My mother-in-law got the Xbox One to turn on by voice on her 2nd try yesterday! Sometimes it takes my wife more, and she just gave me this look of "really" lol.

Just amazed my MIL was willing to even try, usually new electronic things confuse her to no end.

Remote still hasn't shipped from Amazon yet....supposed to be end of last week, but don't think MS has shipped them out yet. Hoping to get it soon!

I think that Gamestop probably has the right release date on it, it's listed as 3/13. I ordered from Amazon because they said it would be available last Friday, but they haven't shipped yet. Best Buy had the release date listed as yesterday, but their website now has shipping and store pickup listed as unavailable.

Strange, I got 95 remotes delivered to my office from the manufacturer (with the pretty packaging and everything) on Friday. Perhaps there was some supply chain thing between the manufacturer and retailers. Sorry guys!

Yeah, until Friday there was a message saying that there were delays in shipping from manufacturer and hoped to start shipping March 7th. Now there's no message at all.

Probably something that'll get resolved this week.
