If you don't mind, would like to hear your impressions vs. voice commands and controller.

I'm on the fence at the moment - my wife said "another remote"?

I like it. It's smaller than all of my other remotes, so I hope I don't lose it. The buttons light up when you move it, which I think is a nice touch. I'll be using the OneGuide a lot more now. I never had very many problems with voice commands, but I didn't really use them beyond "Xbox Pause/Play" and "Xbox On/Off". The main reason I bought this is to use when watching Blurays and video apps like Amazon Instant and Vudu. I was never a fan of using the controller for those.

Same here but I figured I'd just wait until the weekend and save a few bucks from Amazon..

Personally I think it's definitely a needed item if you use your Xbox with a tv as using the controller is just silly and my fiancé agrees and in facet ants it more than myself I believe...

Yeah, IMO it will just simplify things and let me use OneGuide more easily (without a remote). OneGuide is actually really nice, and better than the cable ones (except for when you want to do DVR options), so that'll be cool.

Just in general I like having something I can use to turn on the system without being the controller. Great for the MIL and other people who don't "get" the Xbox as much (though she did learn!)

Amazon just shipped mine and should get here Friday! I was almost ready to cancel and go to BB but decided to wait.

Mine just shipped as well...says Saturday but usually get mine next day even on two day shipping as I'm not too far from an Amazon hub.

Yeah, probably coming today unless they have issues....I just saw that Prime is upping price 20 bucks, but IMO it's still worth it for fast shipping.

Oh, just got an Amazon email saying that they charged me 20 bucks for remote on launch, so saved money!

What I want is to be able to hit the button on the control pad and bring up my friends list like on 360. I'm watching the DP Show now and and try to go to my Friends list and it exits the TV app to go there. I tried snapping tv and friends list is not a snappable option. It needs to be. The mutlitasking needs a big improvement. The friends list is still clunky. It needs work.

I don't work on the Friends app, but I know the right people are aware around the pain caused by some of the design decisions.

Temporarily, could you launch friends, then snap TV?

I've seen good comments about the Sony headset on PS4 and Xbox One but with some ticking or something. Is anyone else using a single headset for both consoles and/or PC use?

I know you can't "guarantee" anything but is the option to boot straight to TV being seriously considered? I was hoping it would be in the April update but it doesn't look that way...

It's not my team that would do this work (team that does Home/Shell), but the right people are aware of this desire and request. I can't say much beyond that.

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?

On my DirecTv remote, there is an "On" and "Off" button, as well as a "Power" button. "On" only turns on, "Off" only turns off, and "Power" turns off if on, and on if off.

The Xbox One uses the "Power" function:
                              - if I have the tv on and then say "Xbox On", it turns the tv off.
                              - if I have the tv off and then say "Xbox turn off", it turns the tv on.
                              - Same as the above two for the receiver as well.

Is it possible to update and have "Xbox On" only send an "On" signal and "Xbox Turn Off" the "Off" signal similar to the On and Off buttons on the DirecTv remote? I realize this won't work with all TV's or receivers (I have a TV that I need to hit the power button on the DirecTv remote because the On button does not work for it), so maybe it could be a selectable option for each device?

This is a problem we're aware of and we're looking into ways we can solve it, both with UX and technical changes. You aren't the first to ask
