Cool article from Dan "Shoe" Hsu about Kinect and TV...we're probably a minority, but a pretty vocal one!Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
Studbucket I'll check those out..thanks!
Question: will the NFL app have the ability to not show scores, fantasy stats/scores and highlights and all that good stuff on our TV if we don't want it to?
My fiancé is worried cuz sometimes we watch games we DVR on a time shift so getting on screen updates would give away the score basically...
Normally we want it but at times we may want to toggle those things off I guess is what I'm asking..Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
I would love to have this same functionality as I watch all NFL games DVR'd on a 2-4 hour delay. I don't work on the NFL app, so I can't say for sure, but my guess is that they are prioritizing the live scenarios first.Studbucket I'll check those out..thanks!

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
I posted a while back about not getting proper 5.1 audio when watching TV. Sometimes I get low audio with no audio from some speakers. I finally discovered that if I go back to the dash and use the menu to quit the game that was running the TV audio output is fixed. So it seems that a game paused in background is the issue, which then defeats the purpose of instant switching.Comment

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
Sometimes it gets stuck there because Home or Kinect is messed up. A hard reboot should fix it.
That is very strange. Have you seen anyone else or any other apps with this behavior?I posted a while back about not getting proper 5.1 audio when watching TV. Note: I work on the product, I am biased. Others can say if you are missing out, but here are some things I like about it.
1) I never have to switch inputs on my TV
2) I can just say "Xbox Watch ESPN" anytime my Xbox is on, and switch to that channel.
3) My OneGuide favorites have PBS next to ESPN next to the top NFL highlights next to my OneDrive mobile uploads folder (slideshow of pictures of my kids). All my content from one place.
4) I can snap TV next to a game I'm playing.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
When are they gonna implement the ability to mute either the main screen or the thing you have snapped. Watching Fox pregame with NFL app snapped and can't mute either."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Yeah, it's in Display & Audio settings. Not easy to get to (I'd love to make it part of the snap or Home UI), but it's there.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
studbucket, thank you SO much for interacting with us. I'm firmly behind the product, but I have some gripes and feedback on a couple of these.
Unless I'm missing something, this requirement still exists for me. I don't just have an XBox One attached. I have an Apple TV and a Chromecast. The XBO can't control those as far as I can tell and just giving me one HDMI port as a pass through was not a move to encourage using the XBO as a media hub. That was grand mistake #1.
I frequently have to yell at it to do this. But that's fine. Nothings perfect. But if I ask for TCM, I get CNN(? or some other arbitrary station sounding nothing like T-C-M). Try it. I'm a well spoken man. I was raised by Bamas, but my elocution is good.2) I can just say "Xbox Watch ESPN" anytime my Xbox is on, and switch to that channel.
See above. TCM is not only IN my favorites, but it is truly one of my favorite channels. I ask for it all the time. I always have to use the remote. TBS turns into PBS. TNT turns into CMT. This would be fine if my kids were still 1, 5, 6, and 9 years old respectively. Both of these favorite channels do not seem to have a higher priority than non-favorites.3) My OneGuide favorites have PBS next to ESPN next to the top NFL highlights next to my OneDrive mobile uploads folder (slideshow of pictures of my kids). All my content from one place.
I really have no use for this feature frankly. I know it's not your call, but the marketing of this feature was, in my opinion, a waste.4) I can snap TV next to a game I'm playing.
ALL I ask of you guys is just get rid of the short names and let me ask for my channels by channel number. Otherwise, after almost a year of using it, I would have to call the Input-1 initiative a failure in many ways.
Thank you for reading. I hope I didn't come off as trying to be overly critical. These are actually highly frustrating cases for me.Last edited by Boilerbuzz; 09-15-2014, 08:06 PM.Comment
