    3) Who is your TV provider, and what's the make & model of your set top box?

    1) Just channel change, volume up and down as well as power still work perfectly fine.
    2) We can't find that channel it might not be available through your provider. If it should be, try again later.
    3) OTA broadcast in Philadelphia, using a Mediasonic HomeWorx HW-150PVR

When I resynced the device in the settings, it found everything and powered it off just fine. The issues seems to the oneguide isn't communicating with the device. Coupled with a change in the direct channel change using the oneguide instead of just going up or down a channel with the ir blaster. I am having to use the HomeWorx remote for any channel change as I cannot change with voice, cannot change by navigating one guide. And the hot keys on the controller to change channel seem to just navigate the one guide now instead of changing channels, so even that is a no go right now. Could my oneguide app be corrupted, and is there away to delete and redownload it, since it seems more like a system interface app and not an optional app.

Thanks. You've run into an issue that only impacts the users that use OTA. It was introduced as part of the trending work, and I know the fix is known and they are working on it. Sorry!

Also, regarding the channel up and down, that's been fixed. Channel up/down on the media remote, and *right* thumbstick on the controller will do it. (Trust me, I never wanted to change/remove this functionality, but I'm glad it's back.)

The media remote is great, we just watch so much time shifted stuff it's not as useful for us as it would be for others.

Also, have a toddler that would love to mess with it and when he's grown out of that his sister will hit that age.

Your other option would be SmartGlass. I love the Media Remote, but I'm biased

Yeah...it'd be cool if we could somehow do the DVR stuff with it...

We do like the media remote for when my wife wants to navigate Skype and stuff, so it's been good to have. Otherwise we use the DVR's remote and that works well too...

I am having audio issues using XB1 with Cablevision Samsung SMT-C5320 cable box and Sony 5.1 receiver. Everything is HDMI. TV audio is low and 5.1 output is not working. Game audio was also not right sometimes. With Fantasia demo, I clearly noticed left front not working.
I finally decided to troubleshoot and removing the cable box fixed the audio issues. It also looks like the picture quality watching TV is sharper without running the cable box thru XB1.

Hey Pete - first on the video issues. Our video-out guys did a lot of research into this, and they've determined it's always because of settings on the STB, Xbox One, and/or TV. Here's something I posted on the official support forums:
                  Hey everyone,
If you are seeing video quality issues, there are a few possible root causes.
-Incorrect video setting on TV or Xbox
-A device handling video incorrectly (exacerbated by wrong settings)
                  -General device interoperability issues
Given that, can you try one or more of the following things?
-Settings -> Display & Sound -> Calibrate HDTV
-Settings -> Display & Sound and set the Color Space to PC
Also, refer to this support article - support.xbox.com/.../adjust-display-settings
If you are still seeing quality or black-level issues, it’s possible that it’s a setting on your cable or satellite box (like outputting in RGB Full). If this is the case, could you also send me a private message (using the functionality below) with the following information:
                  1) Set top box make, model and provider.
                  2) Set top box video output settings (resolution, color depth, etc)
                  3) TV make and model
                  4) TV video settings (mode, color depth, etc)
                  Thanks!

For Audio, I have 2 questions.
                  1) Have you gone into TV & OneGuide settings and tried changing the audio settings there?
                  2) Have you gone into Display and Sound settings and tried changing the surround sound settings there?

Thanks for the quick reply. I've tried changing sound settings in Display and Sound with no effect. I was not aware of audio settings in TV and OneGuide. I'll try that this evening. If I can fix the sound, them I'll go on to the video settings you pointed out.

                      Hey studbucket,

I got my Xbox One back from MS to be fixed...reads discs now so yay!

However, it's not turning the tv off when I do Xbox Off...I know it's set to in the power options, so I think I should just re-do the tv setting in settings, right?

I think I had to do this when I got the Xbox for upstairs (it's a older Vizio 37" 760p)...I think if I re-do the tv import it should be fine, but figured I'd ask now since I didn't have time while it was DL'ing all the stuff I had to re-download yesterday.

Nothing urgent, just want to get back to normal...all ready love being able to talk to the tv up there again...

Yeah, that's generally the first step, just run through TV setup again to make sure all the correct IR configuration info is written to our settings. If that doesn't work, I'm happy to walk through things.

Yeah, i'll probably figure it out...don't mind tinkering, I think I just copy my code from my other Vizio tv....should have tried that when I had to find my cable box that works better (you helped me figure that out a while back)

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?

Studbucket, I have an issue with my X1 I cannot resolve. We just moved and our directv just got reinstalled. We kept our equipment so that has not changed. Everything was working fine until today I went to watch HBO and I got a "RESTRICTED PROGRAM" message on my TV. My DirectV then seemed to freeze, the guide wouldn't pull up or anything so I reset my DirecTV box. Still no luck.

Naturally I assumed DirecTV had to authorize HBO and the premium channels. Called them and went through a remote reset and finally I told the lady I'd bypass the Xbox One as we wanted to see if that helped. It did. HBO and other channels above 500 now worked just fine. I told her I'd figure it out as it's obviously not a DirecTV issue.

So I verified all my settings and didn't see anything amiss. I tried new HDMI cables to no avail. The DirecTV box is not freezing when I go to HBO, it's something with the X1 video because I can still see the DirecTV box is getting my remote button presses.

I do have two Xbox Ones so I thought, "I wonder if this is also an issue with the other one?" Went upstairs, turned it to HBO and works perfectly. Obviously it's not any of my settings as my profile on the X1 is the same on both systems. I cannot find anything in the direcTV boxes menus that may fix the issue either.

So now, for some bizarre reason I cannot access HBO or other premium channels at all in my living room. The message "RESTRICTED PROGRAM" no longer comes up. When I change to a premium channel the video just appears to freeze, with the DirecTV banner at the top until I change to a non-premium channel, turn off the DirecTV a box and turn it back on.

And yes, I have hard reset the X1 to no avail as well. Any ideas?

P.s. I have a DirecTV Genie HR-34 and two satellite boxes using wi-FI. The issue I'm having is in the living room and that is where the main Genie box sits.

                              Sounds like HDCP.

Turn everything off. Turn on TV, then Xbox, then Genie.

If that doesnt work try that in reverse.

Basically you need the devices to all handshake cleanly so the receiver believes it has a secure connection and then the content won't be restricted.

If that doesn't work... Not sure what to try. I have an identical setup, HR34 and all, with an audio receiver in the chain too.

Mestevo's right, totally sounds like HDCP. Try the following:
                                1) Make sure the cables are fully seated
                                2) With the Xbox One on, pull the power on your STB, wait 10 seconds, and power it back up.

Do you happen to have an AVR in either Xbox One's HDMI chain?
